I had some questions about this phone
1-can i unlock it without waking up screen and just touch the home button to unlock?
2-does it support 4.5G(4G+) internet connection?
3-does it support VoLTE and VoWiFi calling?
I have reading the specs and reviews of the new A3 (and A5) 2017 phones and I need to ask/confirm these rumours: 1. Camera has no OIS? 2. It has a slower version of the USB Type-C? 3. Speakers sound inferior than last-gen? 4. Memory management is poor with apps reloading?
Why is A3 released in Europe but not in Singapore/Malaysia? And vice versa for A7? There is an illusion of choice because the models exist but are not made available in all regions.

MrGrumpy, 15 Feb 2017Cheers Eric, overall how do you think the A3 2017 compares with the S5 Mini?If you were used to type/swipe with one hand in Whatsapp and other messengers in S5 Mini, then A3 is definitely a no go. It feels big, you can't cover all letters and it slips out of hand. If you don't care about one hand usage you better pick a bigger normal phone, either A5 or P9 lite or whatever, there are a lot cheap and good around 5" - basically ALL damn others...
A3 performances are better, obviously, still the extra size wont justify it. If S5 Mini was 8/10 at handling (considering some 4-4.3" was 10/10), then I would give A3 2017 a solid 4/10 at handling with one hand.
Moving from my old HTC One-S with Android 6 (CM 13) I'm very happy with the small size and battery life.
If Samsung would show some concern for their customers I would be even happier. Samsung choose to not let you use your SD-card for permanent storage so now I'm stuck with 16 GB and a basically useless SD-card. The option to use the SD-card as permanent storage has been around since Android 5 ...

But seriously I am looking for a good one handed phone.. this phone caught my eye.. how good it is to use with one hand.. I have a Redmi Note 3 after holding it for long time, I feel very uncomfortable as it quite heavy and have to use both the hands for operation..
I think 'A' series is one of best in Samsung... they have 3 different display sizes... it gives a chance to choose better phone size to our hand... but it not to say reduce the performance of handset. A3 some step down with A5 and A7.. its to bad for small phone lovers...
Can anybody that has one now tell me what audio sounds like? im sure headphone jack stuff should sound good but im wondering what the sound would be like on Bluetooth earphones? compared to S6 Edge? which i have at the moment.
MrGrumpy, 14 Feb 2017Not sure whether it's worth upgrading my S5 Mini for this. I'm thinking not.
+ rem... moreDont trade S5 mini for this. It will feel bigger and you will regret.
Grace UX is a colorless interface that looks authistic. My a3 is already in service and I have to wait weeks to fix it...
Not at all.... infact blue light filter is a grear option for reducing eye strain

+ removable battery
+ notification LED
+ heart rate sensor
+ one handed use
- older swipe fingerprint sensor
- no FM radio
- no noise cancelling microphone
+ better battery life
+ newer press fingerprint sensor
+ FM radio
+ better camera
- bigger phone
- more bloatware
- fixed battery
Grace ui is also cleaner and simpler... only thing is that private mode is gone... and there is secure folder which is not that simpler as private mode...
