Ok, I got the phone. I read many opinions here and there before buy this Samsung. I got opinions by my own now..
It's not a gamer phone and it's not a photographer phone (decent cameras btw). It's just budget mid range phone that works perfectly fine for people like me that dont like waste lot money in phones, just need to open apps or social media comfortly without too much lag and dont like big phone as well. People complaining about AOD but you can double tap the display (amazing AMOLED FHD display) and you will see the notifications.. I like the phone, just costed me 240$

I always wonder, why nobody makes compact phones these days! I'm sure there are people like me who appreciate compact, pocket friendly phone that can fit in hand. Unfortunately we are left with very little and expensive choices like iPhone 7 or SONY phones. Which are not pocket friendly. I have noticed increasing pain due to broad and heavy phones. I hope Samsung will bring this phone to India.

So no is not compact. Don't tell me that a 144 mm phone is compact . Even in 2050 standards. Is a big phone. Period. The a3 is compact for example .

Hello,
does anyone know how to fix accidental touch protection, that totally not working, in pocket?
July patch on.
Proximity sensor for calling working.
Problem explanation:
* first fail: turn on double tap to wake up - lock the phone, put something over the screen - double tap on screen - phone is on = protection not working.
* second fail: even after increase sensitivity touch = off, i can control phone through clothes

Araceli, 27 Jul 2019Hello I have a Samsung a5 2017 do you think this a40 is better? Do you think it worth buying it? I upgraded from A5 2017 to A40 mainly because of the dual camera with AI scenes. Also, the phone is the same size, but much lighter and has bigger screen.

I have the A40 and its quite fast, but the wide angle camera is trash, it picks up no detail. The other cameras are good.

Wanted pie so bad that's why I wanted the a40 and also because of that big screen and it has 1 GB more of ram and the double storage so considered it and upgrade but will think about it. I suggest keeping the A3 unless you are having performance or battery issues.
