Also, turn on adaptive brightness and teach it to prefer lower display brightness when possible - default is IMHO quite bright.

Slyster, 29 May 2019Which one is better? Samsung galaxy A40 or Samsung galaxy A6. The main priority are photos.Not sure about the camera units themselves, but A6 has the old style camera UI where you have to select modes manually (do you want HDR? Sure, go to the menu to turn it on manually). A40 has the "new" style camera UI (same as S10) where you just point the camera at something and it automatically detects and adjust settings for you. (ie Is the image to bright? It will turn on auto-hdr without you doing anything).
Which is better? Well, it depends. Manual control can be nice. But the A40 camera is a lot easier to use.

would be good compact phone if only would have bigger battery, 5000mAh for this kind of high density pixels. right now no point to buy because due to weak battery need to carry powerbank with you, but pockets have limits. dont want to be guy whos pockets always fyll of trash.

Pls answer, 24 May 2019I wanna ask you who used a40 Is it smooth on snapchat? Cuz snapchat app is soo heavy on phones I haven't tried Snapchat but fast scrolling in Youtube's fred is a bit jerky. It's like the phone is not loading new videos fast enough. It is not very noticeable tho, I only noticed it after using S10e for a while and going back to A40.

I have this phone for a couple of weeks now. This is great overall medium-range phone. All parts of the phone are in the good value for your money range, apart from the super-quick fingerprint sensor, and the user friendly 2 SIMs solution.
Some things to expect:
- It can only store three fingerprints. Considering you can reach the sensor with four fingers this is not really sensible
- The LED that indicates a new message when the screen is off, is missing. That is a major downside for me. On other phones it is done by software using always-on display, that is non-existent on this phone.
- there is no stabiliser for the camera/video. OK, a hardware one would make the phone cost more, but at least there could have been a digital one.
Overall, my impression is, that the phone could be much better with an improved software. I would have paid a bit more for a phone with a stronger software. Let's hope we get a powerful update soon!

Anonymous, 23 May 2019Phone doesn't have proximity sensor. If you go to *#0*# and then sensors there isn't proximit... moreIt definitely has proximity sensor. Get the flip case, you'll see that when you close the cover the screen turns off and vice versa.
