I bought this phone (with 8/128GB) on 22nd September 2020, and found no issue at all. As a non-gamer, i find this phone is good for daily use (browsing, social media, call, text, etc.).
Base on AccuBattery Pro app installed on my phone, the battery health shows 98% after 398 full cycle charge (859 charging sessions), with 12 hours Screen on time.
I would recommend to buy this phone if you could find one with 8GB RAM configuration, and price under USD 250. This phone still has 2 major Android OS upgrade and security patch upgrade until 2024 (1 year after last One UI 5/Android 13 upgrade).

A51 is worst phone I have owned. The customer service from Samsung is non-existent and they are not interested in helping customers amend fault goods. I would never buy a Samsung mobile again.

Worst phone ever. I am a Samsung fan but I was terribly disappointed with this phone. I bought this July 2020 but last March 2021 it just did not charge until the batteries drained. I brought it to the 2 repair shops but they just returned it and advised me to buy another phone instead.

After send to SAMSUNG center for reset and install new software, it's happened again after 1 week. it's keep 'hang' and restarted, sometimes required 3 hours to stable
1st time happened, i can't even key-in password for 24 hours. After completed 24 hours waiting, still cannot key-in and reset to wait for 24 hours again

I got this phone last July 2020 and I must say that its one of the best mid-range phone I've ever had. Camera, games, battery other features and the design. It was nice not until the new system update comes, when I download and install new update android 11 last december 2020 I started to notice problems on my device. Whenever I received calls they'll hear me but I can't hear them and the speaker sometimes it has needless sounds and all I can do is to restart and restasrt again. My mother often scold me whenever we call and that happens. its frustrating and finally last week of december 2020 I was reading wp and it suddenly freeze and hanged, it heats up then I lock my phone but when I try to open again it won't like for real. SCREEN BLACKOUT I can touch the screen but there's no display. So I waited a few minutes but it turns to days and MONTHS! I gave up and brought new phone xiaomi TT_TT

One of the worst phones I've ever owned and I've owned some super budget phones. Spent the extra money for an ok camera and after some update it went incredibly poor. Screen doesn't register finger touches half the time. Never buying another Samsung again...

Poor Samsung to have its mos... moreSomehow, this Exynos is unoptimized, and in Android 10 it emits a lot of heat. It's so much that apps close. The constant heat could damage the motherboard, which is why one sees so many complaints.
In android 11, the heat issue is solved, but the constant battery drain remains.

Does anyone here have a freezing issue on this phone? I only just noticed this a couple of days ago. I was playing mobile legends and then the game freezes for like 2 seconds and then it works fine again. It happens like 2 to 3 times per hour. So I thought that it might be the game. I uninstalled it and I went to watch videos on youtube. A couple of minutes later, same thing happened. The video that I was watching freezes for like 2 seconds. Now I knew then that it wasn't the game app, it was my phone. I restarted the phone but it does the same thing. Now, it freezes 2 to 3 times every hour for 1 to 2 seconds. Can anyone tell me what to do? I already searched this issue on the net but I couldn't find anything other than to restart the phone.

EVERY whatsapp user can not send videos larger than 16MB or with maximum lenght of 3 minutes. No matter which phone you are using, iphone/samsung/xiaomi. So send your complain to whatsapp not to samsung.

i have a51 samsung phone. previously i had galaxy grand2 & c7pro.
2 days back i could send videos upto 98mb or 19 minutes videos through whatsapp. now i cannot sent videos more than 3 minutes & in very low quality pixels (430 × 260). what could be the reason.
any advice to restore previous settings & how to send videos in high pixels [480×400] or [639× 360]. very disappointed in this regard. samsung has just thrown this good mobile into 3rd grade phone. sharing quality videos with your family & friends & others is one of main media activity & in the regard this ss a51 will let down you. i request samsung via gsm arena platform to update its software in this regard.

-2 Major Android OS upgrade until 2023+ Security update until 2024.
- A51 has Pro mode camera + front back camera switch during recording (even A52 dont have camera switch feature)
- has more modern design (punch hole screen) + thinner bezel
