Try rebooting your A71 or shut down and restart. If it doesn't solve your battery issues, remove micro sd card and restart phone. If still the same, factory reset phone and update software and all apps. Don't install micro sd card yet. Observe. If still battery draining rapidly after factory reset and without micro sd card (fake cards/corrupted cards can cause battery issues), have your A71 replaced or repaired if under warranty or ask for a refund. The A71 has great battery life but when it drains fast, it's usually caused by a misbehaving app which can normally be corrected by restarting/rebooting. Otherwise, if even a factory reset doesn't solve it, it's a hardware issue and you need to claim warranty for it.

I have the phone for 1 week now and the battery I can say is performing very poor. Just got it to 100% then after 1 minute suddenly went to 99% and after 5 mins suddenly went to 98% just on standby mode. Can anyone please explain me why this is happening?
My device is always optimized (no background processes running). Every app (even the useful ones) I have put to sleep, which means I'm sacrificing on not getting the notifications when the internet is connected as those those apps are put to sleep but I did it just to put my battery on right track. Still no significant benefit.
Standby drain is the biggest issue I'm facing beside 1% drop every 10 mins light use. Early 2% drops for no reason at all. At night time, I see at least 3% drop in 4 to 5 hours standby with wifi off and zero brightness and dark mode on and always-on display disabled.

To everyone complaining about the Samsung Galaxy A71.. I urge you to go and check if you really bought the original one because mine is working perfectly fine with no issues. I'm loving the phone. Kudos to Samsung

I got a new phone on 7th July and from day one I started having the battery issues. I tried calling the Samsung people in my country and they just advised me to optimize (like we have never heard of this thing before) and when she couldn't give me a proper answer, she said this looks more like a software issue and it will get better with new update.
I'm having 1% battery drop every 10 mins for just reading comments on XDA developer or GSMArena with brightness to 0%, no extra app working in background, have put all the apps to sleep when not in use and no multimedia use. So, when I'm using Chrome, I'm only using Chrome. When I'm watching Youtube videos on app with 20% brightness and 60% volume, I'm having 1% drop every 7 to 8 mins. I see variability between each % drop. Like for example, sometimes it drops 1% at 4 mins interval and after that it will take 8 mins to drop a percent.
I have never been so confused in terms of battery life before. Someone from Samsung should at least come forward and explain to us what is going on.
From the reviews, the new updates doesn't have much to offer in terms of battery life. I haven't gotten the update yet.

If you want to show the message without unlocking the phone.
Setting - Notifications - scroll down to bottom - Notifications (Lock Screen) - View Style - choose details
You message will appear without need of unlocking your phone, but this also mean everyone can read your message, if want to disable it do the same step & choose icon only.

Guys, Why is it that when my phone is locked and I receive a call/message I can't see the highlights/content of what I received when I press the side key, touch the screen or even swipe down I will have to unlock the phone entirely to see details of anything I received this is unlike the previous Samsung I used. Please is this same with you all or there is a way to set it?

Let me guess this is your first ever phone with full screen, you last phone is those with physical proximity sensor like J7 Prime.... lol
