Use an equalizer app and enable the A71's Dolby Atmos mode. Choose 'Atmos - Music'.
I get great sound with the mentioned JBL bluetooth speaker and Audio Technica headphones using an equalizer app from Google Play Store: 'Equalizer FX' app by 'devdnua' is what I use and these are my equalizer settings:
60Hz +5db
230Hz -2.5db
910Hz -1db
3Khz +11db
and 14Khz +7db.
Turn off 'Bass boost' and turn off 'Virtualization'.
Turn on 'Loudness enhancer' and set it at around 55%,
(aligned with the letter 'H' in the 910Hz frequency
response adjustment bar).
Got this phone today. The only thing I don't like is that the sound quality isn't as good as my previous phone.
meredith, 30 Jul 2020I'm a galaxy s7 user but it's been overheating for a while now plus some other issue... moreCertainly. There are many things the midrange A71 can offer that the flagship Samsung phones can never provide. And it's not only the lower price point that's appealing - the A71 has bigger screen than many Samsung flagships costing several times more, and it's screen is perfectly flat too, so no annoying unwanted touches and no annoying screen readability issues/reflections at the curved edges, not to mention the curved edges are very fragile.
The A71 has also got a bigger battery than many Samsung flagships, a dual SIM slot and a dedicated micro SD card slot that no current Samsung flagship offers (they are usually hybrid slots or no micro sd expansion at all). The majority of Samsung flagships also don't have FM radio at all and ALL except US versions have Exynos processors - a no-no if you want to enjoy Google's excellent GCam with night sight.
Then some Samsung flagships like the S20 don't even have a headphone jack! So there's plenty of reasons why it's better to choose the midrange A71 over their flagship equivalents. The overall phone experience doesn't rely purely on flagship processor specs and flagship camera performance or ip68 rating or metal body or wireless charging.
Many people actually put more value to music and FM radio listening or to Netflix watching that's why dedicated micro sd slot and a headphone jack and a big flat screen and big battery matters more to them than those mentioned flagship features.
meredith, 30 Jul 2020I'm a galaxy s7 user but it's been overheating for a while now plus some other issue... moreDon't downgrade from a flagship to a mid range phone, you'll regret later, stick with flagship like S 20 ultra or last generation flagship,S10 plus or at least a premium mid ranges
S10 lite.
A71 is merely a cost cutting version A7 or a J7 prime replacement.

Dr., 30 Jul 2020I tried all the options you told me but still the battery drain issue persists. Just recently ... moreDid you do a full factory reset? If battery drain still persists after a full factory reset, then you certainly have a defective or used unit. Accelerated battery wear/aging that cause battery drain doesn't happen overnight. However, if a bad seller sold you a demo unit (one that was used in a retail store for customer's testing) and not really brand new, then that explains the high battery drain. In any case, battery drain in a new A71 is unusual. I'm afraid you'll just have to return it and ask for a refund if it really doesn't survive a day of light to moderate use because given its 4500mAh battery, it should have plenty left at the end of the day.
Socks, 26 Jul 2020Oneplus has better build quality yes but the double hole punch will be pretty annoyingThis did not age well.
I'm a galaxy s7 user but it's been overheating for a while now plus some other issues as it's an old device and I'm thinking of getting the a71. is it worth it going from the s series to the a?
Dr., 30 Jul 2020I tried all the options you told me but still the battery drain issue persists. Just recently ... moreYou are wasting your life monitoring petty issue like how many percent battery use in 24 hours, how many minutes each percent drop & etc.
Is the overall battery SOT that counts.
If you want a phone with battery hardly moved you should get those phone with huge battery like M31 with 6000mha battery or Asus Rog Phone 2, Umidigi Power 3
Then you can watch the battery drain in 2-3 days .. lol
What's your problem? Your A71 battery can't last till end of the day ? You need to bring your power bank all day ? You want to binch game playing for 12 hours ?
[deleted post]Probably only certain unit, my A71 no issue with battery drainage, i am getting 8 hours SOT, most of the time I still has 45% at night, unplugged 6am & plug in 10pm, this is more than enough for me, I too has a M31 with 6000mha battery which has crazy 10 hours SOT
I've been facing the battery draining issue too...could anyone help regarding this?or could we just complaint to samsung with the issue to be fixed?
Anonymous, 15 Jul 2020Proceed to do everything I suggested in the order given below.

Try rebooting your A71 o... moreI tried all the options you told me but still the battery drain issue persists. Just recently my phone had 10% drop on 24 hour standby with wifi off, flight mode on, battery saving mode on, all apps put to deep sleep.
I checked the stats and it shows not a damn thing what is causing the drain.
10% is too much drop when I practically keep the phone like it's off. I don't use anything at all when the phone is on standby.
Still having 1% drop every 8-10 mins for just browsing twitter and nothing running in the background.
Sad, 18 Jul 2020Please why does the A71 battery drop so rapidly, almost everything reduced or turned off still... moreHaving the exact same issue with my phone as well. Guys don't put it as calibration issue. New devices never have calibration issues specially when they have been charged few times.
Somebody please explain why is this happening? Is this software issue or the hardware?
Viper, 21 Jul 2020mine lasts 3 days with light using, a daily game that i play is like 10 minutes nothing more, ... moreHow does your battery last 3 days? On standby alone my battery consumes 10% in 24 hours. Can your please share your sot for 3 days use? Also share how much standby drop do you see?
Anonymous, 21 Jul 2020Look at the SOT (Screen On Time), not how your usage, as everyone use their phone in different... moreThat's very less compared to how the sot is advertised on official Samsung website. You can't ignore the fact that it is just 1080p display and packs 4500 mah battery. With advanced power saving snapdragon processor and very highly optimized Android 10.
I understand it depends on the usage but still the battery is not performing well, at least in my case. I'm very disappointed.
Hi. I'm seeing too much battery drain time by time. Tried everything but still the battery drain issue on standby and during use doesn't stop.
About standby, the phone dropped 10% in 24 hour standby. Phone was in deep sleep, brightness to 0%, power saving mode on, flight mode on, wifi off, all the apps of phone are already put in deep sleep. Still 10% drop? I don't understand.
During use it drops 1% every 8-10 mins for just using Twitter app to read tweets. Brightness 5%, power saving mode on, flight mode but wifi on, dark mode on always, disabled all the bloatware apps, always on display disabled. What should I do? It looks like I made a mistake buying this phone.
Are you guys having the same issue with battery life or is it just me?

I had 10% drop when I kept the phone on standby for 24 hours. No wifi, flight mode on, all apps put to deep sleep, no always on display. Practically the phone was turn into basic. Browsed the battery settings and the stupid statistics page shows no cause for the battery drain.

San, 29 Jul 2020Wanted to know which is better value for moneyThe price variance are to wide to compare for better value for money, imagine you compare a BMW 330 vs Toyota Corolla 2.0 & Maruti 800.
If you can afford a BMW you won't even take a look at Corolla what more a pathetic Maruti 800.
