Anonymous, 18 Nov 2022I can't find this phone to buy anywhere, not even on Ebay.Even if it was still 2018 or whenever this phone was marketed and released, you might not even live in the market that this phone targets - samsung makes a lot of phones for very hyper specific markets like india, brazil or kenya etc
I still have samsung galaxy a8 (a800f) just must have a new battery...
🙏

It's 2022, it is until today that I found out everyone is having the same battery issue same as my A8 (A800I). I used to think it is perhaps the way I use it that cause the battery to malfunction around one year. Turns out it's Samsung's problem lol.
AnonD-744976, 06 Apr 2018when nougat for sm-a800I samsung when when when plz provide now 6th months and still no nougathai
i also have Samsung SMA8001 model. I could not find battery replacement anywhere. I was told that it is not manufactured. Then why did they sell the product//. Anyone can answer?
Lubida, 01 Oct 2018i have galaxy A8 (2015) SM-A8000 with android version 5.1.1, how to upgrade to newer versionsGo to Settings...About device...software... and then at the top of screen you can see update software.
My galaxy a8 duos sm-a800i has been in use for 3 years and a month. Bought it in September 2016 and used as my daily driver until August 2018 when I switch to an Honor 10. I faced battery issues that is almost exactly identical as everyone else.
In the past, it would turn off at 30%+ battery and sometimes 40%. Today however, it would turn off at 60-70% battery and overheat too. I measured ~50 mins of screen on time with GSam battery monitor. The phone was used only for light tasks like internet browsing and YouTube.
So for anyone asking, I don't think its a good idea to replace the battery to prolong the phone's life, this is possibly a case of design flaw. Making a phone too thin comes with its consequences which, for us, is battery life.
If possible just get a new phone. A phone with a Snapdragon 660 is relatively cheap nowadays and has both better performance and power efficiency than the 28nm chipset of this phone. Thats just my personal advice, you should decide yourself if its plausible to change the battery
my one also same , battery problem
My Galaxy A8 Duos always overheat even when no app is running on the phone. And the battery runs down quickly. when it gets to 40/50% it trips off the phone. If i plug in the charger it shows 0%. Wants to know if changing the battery will solve the overheating problem, the discharging fast problem, and also the tripping off problem? Please your advice and suggestions are urgently needed!!!! OR do i just go form a new phone than spending money buying a new battery. Anyone that has encountered similar situations should give advice and solutions of how he/her solved the problem. THANKS

Anonymous, 04 Jun 2018it's owsome bt when reaches 30% it shutdown by itself why is ths happening? ?We have the same exact problem :(
The battery will start to drop randomly and rapidly once below 30 and shut down unexpectedly.
Sometimes, the phone might off itself even at 40+% and shows 0% when plugged in. Other times it powers off at 10% but shows 60+% when plugged in. That 60+% don't last that long though
