The samsung a9 is a pretty good phone. Battery lasts for a day because im a heavy user, performance is amazing and so is the build quality. The screen is still very decent with its fhd but the phone overheats when used for heavy gaming. Overall it is a bang for the buck.

vals, 07 Apr 2016heats up very badly while 4g data is on.Im using since one month and its always on 4g, it doesnt not heat up at all, even battery backup is excellent

Between Note 5 and A9(2016), I would definitely pick Note 5 all the time. It's a flagship device. A9 is a mid-range and when it cannot stand in the way the Note both in specs and performance.
