I believe JB (Jelly Bean) makes it very slow? Is there a stable and fast JB version for it? I saw a mention that some Russian version of JB is good and does not slow it down. Is it true?

I have only one advice. If you have this phone and updated it to 4.1.2, go and see your ram. If it is only 482 or 550MB, than follow the instructions on this site. I have done that and now everything is smooth and works perfectly.

Note: you dont need to flash it with new firmware if you already have the 4.1.2, just use the v1 or v2.

There is a way through softwares like odin and other where you can *root* your device and instal os that are not created to run on your device BUT you loose your warranty and there are possibilities to loose your smartphone.

Install Samsung Kies, it should give you the update option when you USB connect it and you're PC is online. Although I wouldn't suggest going up to Jellybean, I did and it struggles. But I've got my eye on the Mega 6.3 anyway...
