I bought this handset and I cannot use internet with GSM SIM though I have been trying to connect and asked Samsung Showroom people to make settings.
I wonder if this handset can be used internet with GSM SIM Card.

All the Samsung handsets sellers in Yangon do not have any ideas on this.

This phone is full of negative points. I had purchase it 2 month back and I got very poor response from this phone....
1) First of all in this phone GSM will not support of internet/GPRS. You must have to use CDMA sim which is most costly for GPRS purpose... and not even support the 3G network.. :(...
2) Battery life is too Pathetic.
3) Quality for cam is poor
4) Phone get restart most of the time when u r talking to some one or browsing its application
5) It hang a lot while browsing the internet or playing the game.
I am not happy with this phone. If you planning to purchase this phone please go with its proper specification and limitation for this handset.

Anonymous, 15 Jul 2012I have bought the 1589 with lots of expectations...but now i am feeling bad about why i have p... moreI am also disapointd that I've bought this phone, my only purpose was to run data on GSM and this phone is indeed full of shits and the shocking is neither the dealer nor samsung bothers to give this info to the buyers upfront while purchasing. For the first time ever I bought a samsung and I am sure this is my last time as well. Samsung has cheated it's customers. I would never ever go for samsung nor would I advise anybody do so.

GPRS works only on CDMA, which is not specified anywhere...so only if you have a Reliance CDMA SIM(other CDMA SIMs dont support GPRS), and are ok with GPRS on CDMA( more expensive), then u should go ahead with it..otherwise phone is ok
