Anonymous, 10 Apr 2011I bought the Ace 1 month ago, and it is maybe the best choice I made.
P500 is being sold he... moreAgree.Cpu speed really is my main concern. (For me at least)
Cos i was planning to overclock mine. a big tad of ram is easier for me to oc. Still, i have to admit, Ace is a great choice! I have some intention to change my optimus now. hah.
Anonymous, 10 Apr 2011can we play plants vs zombies on ACE?and where we can download it?yes you can. Ace can actually play Angry Birds, Need for Speed, Speed Forge, Scrabble, Sims...so why not Plants vs zombies?
Kin, 09 Apr 2011Just had a hands-on experience.
For those who wanna compare this droid with P500,Wildfire, ... moreI bought the Ace 1 month ago, and it is maybe the best choice I made.
P500 is being sold here with discount, and freebie of carholder and carcharger, but I chose to buy the Ace. Good thing I did, too.
The big ram and battery of P500 is useful only if your CPU speed is tops. Otherwise, day to day operation will lag, definitely, in spite of ram and battery.
The only downside to the Ace I can think of is the poor QVGA video recording, but I think its a fair trade in -- I'd rather have poor video, than no LED camera flash. I rarely use video anyway, and If I do, I have a dedicated digi cam/recorder for it.
As for the small internal memory, I learned to manage it quite well. Almost 95% of my apps are downloaded to the external memory. Only a few games, and widgets are in the internal memory, and I still have 50% of available phone memory.
what really sold me on the Ace is (1) good, clean, sensible design, (2) ideal size of 3.5", (3) HVGA screen, (4) froyo 2.2 android, (5) 800 mhz cpu with graphic chip, and BEST of all (6) 5 mp camera with LED flash. Of course, it helps that the unlocked Ace's price is affordable :)
Maybe in future, when the Galaxy S2 mini comes out, I will upgrade. But right now, I am enjoying my free apps, my pics using the 5mp camera and flash, and my beautiful big screen on the Galaxy Ace. By the way, it does NOT LAG.
I recommend the Ace to anyone who wants a good, simple Android phone.
Im satisfied with my galaxy ace. But how do you discontinue the call when u accidentally hit the center or back button while dialing is ongoing.?
After firmware upgrade my phone keeps shutting down every now and then. Didn't find any performance improvement after upgrade...
Current Baseband version is S5830DDKC1
Artychoke, 09 Apr 2011.. your specs are nice, but you forgot the most important things:
1) C7 is still slow -- 6... moreDear friend.
ACE is running in android.which needs cpu for processing and also for rendering UI.
C7 Runs on Symbian which use CPU only for Mulitaking and GPU for UI rendering So 680 is good for Symbian
To be Frank As others said Every body having Auto Focus cameras. And it is not requires a cell phone user to be a photographer every one can take good snaps on Fixed forcus also they Have EODF technology which will take Every thing in to focus which is not possible in auto focus.
I have seen many of my friends using only 1 to 2 home screen in Andriod rest of them are empty. So i think 3 home screen is good enough
It seems they have promised the Update for Symbian with Notification bar through update. Which will come in jully
Symbian has SWYPE software u can download and enjoy it.
Yes OVI store compared Andriod market has very less APPS but it is also growing.
Is there any method to improve the baterry backup of this phone and how to move apps to the sd vard?
can someone teach me how to check the battery percentage status on the phone
can we play plants vs zombies on ACE?and where we can download it?
The phone has gorilla glass display
hi please recommend me some good apps
where can i download the sims and plants vs zombiees?
i ve read a lot about Ace and its battery.
is there anyone who uses this phone only in 2g?who long does the battery last if so?
is it possible to replace the battery with an 1500 mAh one?will it make any difference?
Just had a hands-on experience.
For those who wanna compare this droid with P500,Wildfire, please read my review.
I wrote this right after i had my hands-on experience with the Ace and Wildfire [I'm a P500 user]
-800Mhz for MSM7227 makes the battery life a bit... bad. At least worse than my P500
-Power key location is extremely inconvenient!!
-No auto arrangement in the App Menu
-Heap lots of RAM! [512MB]
-2.2 Froyo with 2.3 Gingerbread soon!
-Not that snappy compare to Ace
-No camera flash
-A bit heavy
-Browser Flash is supported
-5MP with flash
-Screen res is BAD
-slow CPU and low RAM
how bwt the battery life? wave 2 is also good if it not only for bada.. if only ace have flash support... can we watch movies online here? how is its battery
[deleted post]hahaha! punitmanik you're mean but I like it! I wonder why so many people keeps on complaining on a phone's specification.. first of all, phone companies will NEVER make a PERFECT phone. That is their strategy to make a phone that has incomplete functions so we would try their other units.. of course even the costliest phone they have have disadvantages!
htc wildfire doesn't have gpu so would i be able to play end games on it what will be its effect on gaming experience
The specs are really impressive and I've almost decided to buy it ...but the only thing holding me back is the durability factor....What would the consequences be ..should the phone slip and drop..Is it delicate..??? or could you u count on it for rough usage??
