needanewphone, 13 Aug 2013i really need a new phone, and i want touchscreen en qwerty, so this seems a really nice phone... moreyes. i have this phone already and it is doing it's job great. if you just want BASIC apps (social networks like facebook, free VoIP calls like skype and viber, music, text messaging), it does great. and if you do not want to use the qwerty keyboard, you can use the on-screen keypad which is very good also. since it is not a high end phone, big apps (games specifically) are not advised. but overall, for basic usage its already good.

It seems like only a handful of people knows that ICS and JB offloads a lot of the CPU functions to the GPU.
This phone is amazingly responsive and fast. You can even offload 2D acceleration to the GPU, by just changing a setting. That is the reason only 512 mb ram is needed. Also, 850mhz is awesome on an OS that only needs a little CPU cycles. This phone will play a 720P mkv from the SD card, and display it on the very small screen (The screen will never be able to handle 720P, but the phone is able to decode and play)
The battery life is also exceptional, keeping in mind that I rarely use 3G (disabled). I am just keeping edge on for whatsapp, and reliable phone-calls. (3G will drop, but it is the area I work in. I tried with 3 phones so far)
I love this phone. There is only one thing that bothers, and that is the capacitive menu button that I keep pressing when I press E.

i dont wanna play games with it or something, just want to use it for whatsapp, facebook and music. does it work good enough for that?

i rooted my galaxy chat.. and it takes better than non rooted device. now i expand my ram memory into 1gb

But overall I like this phone just from the comments nd I don't get why people expect so much from it I mean it aint a Black Berry Q10 nd it wasn't meant for games!!!!! Its a chat phone duh

Question, 07 Aug 2013Can you whatsap with it?yes you can... i am using it since last november... and apart from the low battery power, i am highly satisfied with the device... it runs all useful apps, whatsapp, hike, facebook, etc etc etc...

im a galaxy chat user you can play games like candy crush real basket ball temple run and subway surfers but subway surfers and candy crush cant be find in google play you will download it in google you can play games like that if you have jelly bean 4.1.2
