samsung smartphones are still having issues with their chipsets. I used to have a S4, but when this rebooting problems came (continuously on-off, rebooting) the problem was the chipset, replacing the chipset is like buying a mid-range smart phone. go and see a samsung service center, and you'll see a lot of chipset problems!

hi all
samsung grand 2 now in kitkat 4.4.2
but many peoples says don't update it for kitkat.
but i updated. no bug found after update but after 2 days my phone restart automatically but after 2 days this problem gone automatically.
samsung test it for bugs and others issues.
so they launch new software update 22mb after kitkat.
i updated and now my grand 2 working fine with any no issues.
anyone found problems so update your phone software.

The kitkat update on Samsung galaxy grand 2 having following issues -
1) mobile power saver mode not working properly , it's CPU goes to full throttle middle of the day despite being on power sav.
2) heard of poor graphic performance on gaming
3) 1 sec. Lag while opening mobile from start button press.
4). Default front camera viewfinder not working properly the image is spread up.
5) call quality in single sim has reduced by 50% and even single reception has reduced .
6) rear camera performance reduced by about 20% , colour no longer as lively as in android 4.3
All in all the update seems to not have been properly tested , it looks like a demo build of the actual kitkat or Samsung released the kitkat update in hurry.
In kitkat apps can be copied to SD though the data copies is bit less than android 4.3
User please let me know how you got the 21 mob update , ota update shows software latest , please inform the new firmware numbers forum members

I updated my grand 2 to 4.4.2 using kies software After updating I noticed some serious issue.
1.>Lockscreen wallpaper not changing.
2.>Any file manger app available on googleplay will not be able to copy,write Or paste in internal or external mmc even we use otg (even if u try to share file using wifi transfer cannot save that file in external memory card).
3.>Most Stupid Thing USB mass storage is not availble in both 4.3 or in 4.4.2 we have to use mtp connection which is available by default after connecting usb which takes too long time for transfer data means 5 min will extended to 20 mins compare to usb mass storage transfer data.
4.>We can play heavy game like NFS MW, REAl Racing 3 Fifa 12 or 14 but due to low
memory We cannot keep more than 2 games every time we have to transfer our game data
from external memorycard to internal.
5.>While transfering files using inbuild file manger we cannot do other things (means using other apps) or else phones keeps on hanging till transfering is completed.
6.>In 4.4.2 battery also drain fast compare to 4.3 .
7.>In 4.4.2 we get new 3 types of new live wallpaper which consume lots of battery power.
8.>In both 4.4.2 & 4.3 auto brightness does not work as per our surrounding lights auto brightness only work for app only like if auto bright is on & if we open camera phone brightness autmatically gets rise so we can capture good photo or video
>.So thing before updating to 4.4.2
>.People who have update to 4.4.2 & want to downgrade to 4.3 plz visit samsung service center don't try yourself or else phone motherboar gets dead.
So people who are planning to buy Grand 2 becarefull if you are normal user like using chating software receving & calling peoples surfing net watching movies playing soft games like templerun,subwaysurfer etc which is aroung 100 mb games
then this phone is for u people.
My Grand 2 was not updating from Odin so I plug Out The usb Wire & now my phone is
dead. Tried all types Of three button combination but not working still dead.

I am samsung dual sim fan, while i upgrade my dual sim device from galaxy grand to galaxy grand2 first i feel better, later i found some manufacturing defect, while using sim2 the 3G data will be disconnected, it wont happen in galaxy grand, samsung R and D people are sleeping, producing worthless models.... rectify and recall..... if samsung is moral....

once i was a samsung lover....since samsung now .....but all i have to say is this is the beginning of death of all samsung mobile phone. and they dig their own grave. All types and models almost have same look and market will easily getting bored. I feel like this is what nokia did when they were in their golden era....just re-casing the new model. Nothing's really new......boring...boring...boring

guys i own a samsung grand 2 (dual sim) since july 1 2014, my phone charge for 5hrs max turned on without using the device, i also notice that charging from less than 20% to 94% tooked about 4hrs and slows in 94% about 30mins before reaches 95% to 100%, question is, is that really that long to charge a 2600mAh battery or ther is a problem with the device i have? thank nedd your help anyone.

Harsh, 04 Aug 2014Still no one confirm abt the Update verion to Kitkat working fine or not in Grand 2? Any rest... morei have done already up[date my phone working fine ram consumtion is less,apps good works,if i told abt negative point i found in 4 to 5 days my screen lock not work if i release my ph. for some min it good fine..battery drains fast but charge also fast..i'm happy with this update..little compromise..but next update gets my phone better
