I didn't notice it earlier since I tried only the live wallpapers. If you use the option "Home and Lock screen" and select live wallpapers then it works(the wallpaper changes on both home screen and lock screen). But using static wallpapers doesn't work- it always goes back to the default wallpaper in lock screen.
please advise me which phone to buy .....i am looking forward to buy grand 2 but i am doubt when i heard that it lags....manytimes....my budget is 25k....please suggest
I have read that Galaxy Grand 2 got kitkat update in India. I have updated yesterday which is of 360.90 MB update. After updating I noticed only two problems that lock screen wall paper is not changing and also while unlocking screen lags for a second like displaying blank screen. Except that I dont find anything problematic. How to solve these problems. Does reset help?

livesofftalent, 16 Jul 2014Man. You went to the service centre?I agree with Ramki. Yes, flashing the ROM at service centre might fix the issue as mentioned in my earlier post. The only headaches are re-installation of all the apps again and of course, long queue (>1 Hour in my service centre).
A tip on backup: I use Super backup to backup contacts and SMS. Also, Many of us worry about how to backup whatsapp data. Whatsapp stores its data in a folder WhatsApp in internal memory. Make a copy of that in your SD Card(or in your PC) and after the factory reset, copy that back to internal memory. Then after you open Whatsapp and register your number again, it would say "found message data, do you like to restore"? You select yes and it would restore all the messages. However, somewhere I read that this restore of Whatsapp data would work only if you restore within 7 days- so be careful about this. I haven't yet tried to restore after 7 days of delay.
Regarding the GPS problem reported by me earlier- it was almost fixed after the 4.4(Kitkat) update, but still there were a few times when it was taking a long time to get the location lock. later on I found that that was because "Power Saving" mode was enabled. Now I disable "Power Saving" mode before using GPS and the lock is now very fast(less than 15 seconds in open sky and around 20-30 seconds near a window/inside my office which is a single floor building). I thought this tip(disabling Power Saving mode before using GPS) would be helpful for others- so posting it here.
I am using the kitkat version in Grand 2 since Last Saturday and Haven't faced any restating issue or GPS issue or volume button issue or lock screen wallpaper issue reported by others. The only issue I am facing is that the single handed mode is not working properly. After the upgrade my phone has become very fast and GUI is very smooth now. I had GPS problem in 4.3 version and after upgrading to 4.4 the GPS is working fine till now. However, note that my phone was upgraded to Kitkat not using the online update(FOTA) , but at the service centre. The service centre person updated the firmware i front of me and I noticed that he updated it using a software called ODIN and using USB cable connected to the Mobile. As far as I know, this process cleans the whole file system and makes a clean install of the OS- so it deleted all the data and application in the phone(that's one disadvantage), but I think since my phone was updated using ODIN at service centre, I am not facing most of the issues faced by others. As somebody mentioned in this forum, the issues faced by others may be due to some apps installed in the phone which is not yet fully compatible with Kitkat. For example, day before yesterday I was suddenly facing Battery charging issue with Clean master software installed and after uninstalling the cleanmaster and re-booting my phone I am not facing that issue any more.
So those of you who are facing restarting or volume button issue can try a factory reset first and if that doesn't work, take it to a service centre and get it flashed through ODIN.
I am guessing Samsung also might be doing all their testing using flasing by ODIN- which means a clean install and Samsung might never notice all these issues which are faced by FOTA update- so I doubt whether they would fix these issues caused by FOTA update. They might just ask you to go to service centre and get it flashed.
Note that you cannot downgrade the OS back to 4.3 once you have upgraded to 4.4. This is due to some security feature introduced in Kitkat boot loader. This was told by the Samsung service centre guy. That’s a bad news if you want to go back to 4.3.
Personally I feel except the performance(due to better usage of RAM in Kitkat), there is no significant benefit in Kitkat upgrade- so if you don’t want to do a factory reset better not to upgrade. Moreover, you would have lots of limitations of SD Card access(3rd party apps cannot write to SD Card) which is a big disadvantage in Kitkat.
Would Samsung make changes on their KitKat update, or all these issues will remain?!!
