No Samsung Grand 2 will not be getting android lollipop. It is best performer in kitkat 4.4.2 that's the last authentic update.

Proudly using my Grand 2 for last 22 months no problem. Name a Chinese phone which survive so much of rough usage in 2 years and still working.

There are other very good phones there like Samsung J7 or Grand Prime. U might also consider buying Moto G3 its at the same price range and its also WATERPROOF!!!

Samsung Grand 2 using from 22 months till date just changed the battery and it has not given any problem. so I consider it to be the best 3G budget phone with a oomph factor.
