Here, force stop and choose disable* all the apps that you don't need. Disable the auto brightness if you are staying indoors and going out during night. Keep the display brightness at 15%. Set display time out to 30 seconds or less.
* means - disable is not available for all apps. In this case just choose force stop. The apps (which you have chosen force stop) won't run again in the background on device startup unless if you open the app even once.
