Listen everyone, its almost 99% confirmed that our SM-J700F will get the nougat 7.0 update in late September or October. But I request all of you to call Samsung customer care number—1800407267864 and tell them to roll out the Nougat update to J7 2015 as soon as possible. If all of you call, then it will put pressure on Samsung team and hence we will recieve the Nougat update faster. Please guys its a request.. I have called, now it's your turn. Thanks! — A loyal Galaxy J7 2015 user, just like you all.

You seemed to nail it .... so far, only J7 2015 J700T/T1 and J701M have been tested ... moreWho said there is not enough ram for an android update?
1.5 gb ram could hold the nougat update if its 900 mb or 1 gb.
Hi. What can i do cus Android OS is using to much background data this started after updating to marshmallow. I chated to sumsung and they told me i should take the phone to a Samsung centre cos the software must be reloaded. Is there any solution you guys can give me...
Lets just wait and pretend that we ll get it probably.
Since it is popular device we might get it or there is a custom rom which seems to be very stable. But wait some time for the official release if its meant to happen.

You seemed to nail it .... so far, only J7 2015 J700T/T1 and J701M have been tested running Nougat by the WiFi Alliance. - as these 2 models meet the minimum requirement to receive Nougat update.
The 7.0.1 Nougat update size = 1.01 Gb in size - which means the phone needs at least 2GB of RAM to be able to receive and and process the updates.
Anonymous, 06 Sep 2017Samsung j7 2015 is the starter of J series but still no Nougat Update . It's really shamefull Actually, just to correctly inform you - the Galaxy J series are categories as 'mid-range' phones. J3 is built on a 5.0"-inch screen, the J5 is set on 5.2" inch screen, while the J7 is designed to have the 5.5"-inch - not including here is the latest J7 Max, which has the biggest screen of all; 5.7-inch.
If high-end Galaxy S (flagship phones) series, is too much within reach, Samsung answer is the J7 series with different flavors. In my opinion, the J7+ is by far the best upper-midrange phone with premium features and specs, without breaking a very deep hole in your wallet. Cheers All !
Anonymous, 06 Sep 2017So what you re conveying here? That we may get Nougat? To sum it up, and in other words - the WiFi Alliance that tested J700T/T1 and J701M are in fact ' out-of-the-box' Marshmallow OS with 2GB of RAM as the minimum requirement to receive 7.0 Nougat update. If your J7 2015 does not fall into these min criteria, then there' a good chance it will not get nougate update. Samsung has a maximum of up to 2 yrs to update OS on devices with at least those specs.
Anonymous, 06 Sep 2017For each and every mobile or a variant they cannot give you a confirmation. Understand that i... moreBelieve me.....when i saw the turkey roadmap in february there was j7 2015 in the list...i was very happy..but the disappointment started in july when samsung threw out j7 from the list.....but after seeing those wifi certifications there was still a hope...but now i think that if there is an update its only for the j700t and j700m....so there's no news for j700f ....because this model has not even gotten certification for nougat..and brands only update certified devices....nothing to do but wait only...
guru dd, 06 Sep 2017hi friends don't waste your time in doing research regarding nougat update. just now had anoth... moreFor each and every mobile or a variant they cannot give you a confirmation.
Understand that it is not a matter of making a confusion, samsung cannot make assurance about their update or give you confirmation. To conclude there is nothing about this conversation.
hi friends don't waste your time in doing research regarding nougat update. just now had another chat session with samsung india support. as always they initially said they are working on nougat for us currently. but here is the final conversation...
Me : Can i believe Samsung will surely give me nougat?
They : I would like to inform you that another team is in charge of this that is developer team they first inspect the device whether it is compatible or not with new update after that they launch the update
Me: Have they inspected the device? what is the result from them? Is my device compatible for nougat?
They: Sir, I would request you to kindly enable auto update on your device. Whenever update will be available then surely you will get it in notification panel of your device.
Here one can clearly understand that they are trying to be in the safer side. They have succeeded in keeping us confused all the time.
