Alright,i read most of the comments below and i realized it all depends on if you got a great device.I understand and agree with most of you.Other than that today i solved a big issue with this device, the charging time took me up to 2:30hours up to 3:00hours,but from now on i bought a fast charging cable (not usb c,normal usb cable but a fast charging one and plugged it in the original charging brick that came with my phone) and boom,i noticed that this phone charges way more faster now.Other than that Multitasking is a bit worse than it used to be on Marshmallow(It's still not a big issue for me on Nougat)but I'd like to see Samsung improve that with the 7.1.1 update.
When I take a look at it, it really looks like it depends on region where you live and where you got the update. As far as I see, in my region people have no problems (including me) and atleast for me it is running the same as it was on Marshmallow, so I really have no complaints. For people that have problems, there is really not much you can do. Either downgrade back go Marshmallow or wait for update that will fix the problems you have.
trajcevasilev94, 20 Nov 2017Lmao what's with you crazy people complaining about battery drain.Do you like to do it on purp... moreGlad to know your phone's running flawlessly on Nougat, and that you're not facing battery drain problems, or any other issues. But why are you so keen to generalize it? Should you really generalize it? Just because you're not facing battery drain problems, or any other performance issues, what makes you get to the conclusion that everyone else' phone is running just as flawlessly as yours?
You said your phone could only charge up to 96% on marshmallow. On the contrary, my phone used to charge up to 100% just fine on Marshmallow, still does, on Nougat. Does that mean you are lying (in your words) that yours used to charge only up to 96%? Not just that, my phone ran flawlessly on marshmallow. Not a single issue, nothing at all! So should generalize it too? That marshmallow was 'completely' flawless on J7 2016? It was, for me, and for many others. But it surely wasn't, in your case, because you've mentioned yours could only charge up to 96%??
Coming back to Nougat, my phone runs it just as smoothly as it ran marshmallow. It really does. My only gripe is, it doesn't multitask as well. And battery backup is pretty good, but not as good as what it was on marshmallow (I've mentioned it before). But that's just my phone, that's my case. I have no reason to deduce that it's the same for everyone else.
More importantly, my phone charges up to 100% just fine, even on Nougat. But I know for a fact that there are peeps that are facing battery charging issues, their phones' battery charges only up to 92%. But since mine goes all the way up to 100, should I generalize that there are no such issue and they are lying? That they are doing it on purpose?
Bottom line - If some posts that they are facing battery drain or any other performance issues, it means they ARE facing those issues. Simple as that! May be, they need to reset their device.. maybe, their device is faulty, or may be, it is a genuine issue. The fact of the matter is, they are facing those issues, that's why they are posting about them. Just because your phone is running without any issues, doesn't mean you would start generalizing that everyone else' phone is running flawlessly.
So, your being impulsive and impetuous. Calling someone 'crazy' just because they posted that they were facing battery drain/performance issues doesn't make you look smart. Thank you
Lmao what's with you crazy people complaining about battery drain.Do you like to do it on purpose or?.This device has an endurance rating of 101hours while the Galaxy S8+ Has 88h and the Note 8 has 89h.This phone has same battery capacity as S8+ And Note 8,but they have less endurance rating and I've never seen somebody complain about battery drain on these phones(Yeah ik Note 8 has Samsung Experience 8.5 and it's battery is optimised well but the S8 is on Samsung Experience 8.1)while this device received Nougat with Samsung Experience 8.1 and on the top of that with 101hours of endurance rating, lasting longer than the S8/S8+ and people still find a way to complain about battery drain issue. If you ask me personally I've never had any battery issue, well except charging issue in Marshmallow (Battery used to charge only up to 96% at that time)but after Nougat it's fixed. The charging time of this device is slow considering that it does not have USB type C nor it does have fast charging(quick charging or whatever you call it)and it takes around 2:30 to 3 hrs (From 0% to 100%; Dependant). Battery for me lasts just like it did on Marshmallow and i got no issues with it.
Just received the original OTA 7.0 Update yesterday. J710FN, EU edition with 2Gb Ram and the 720 screen. Almost 1gig size, installed nicely, is running a bit faster (was fast before too). The extras from 6 to 7 are nice, feels a bit like a new phone. Many apps are running faster too, actually it auto-updated a lot of them, possibly the compatible versions for 7, have been reprogrammed by their owners. Until now i'm happy.
tj, 19 Nov 2017Ohh man still no Android N for Sri lanka ..!!!Same here in Pakistan
nick, 18 Nov 2017Y r u confusing that man..as if u knw completely abt flashing... wrong frimware usually doesnt... moreI am not confusing, it is my experience and he can't change IMEI with IMEI changer, you can change the number but you can't receive or make calls with a false/wrong imei, service provider won't allow that, I have tried with my note 3 but no success. If he follows my advice he can give life to the phone, fully working. I am a chef so I am not aware of the technical or software part deeply but my 6/7 years of experience with root, flashing

Sania79, 17 Nov 2017Yeah same here... Have you upgrade it ??YEs, but I gave it to my brother, because I have a plan to buy Samsung Galaxy J+
I used it for a year but no problem, battery and smoothness
is still the same as I bought it, no lag even a game with high resolution.. great phone
debashish, 17 Nov 2017i dont have a backup ..what should i do..please help meSorry...
Sania79, 16 Nov 2017Wow Overall complete review than what you suggest should i upgrade to nougat or not ?Update To Nougat After That U Will Get Fix Update Which Is 27mb Nearly For Battery N Vo LTE Support Which Was Missing In Previous Samsung Phones..... :)
Sania79, 16 Nov 2017Wow Overall complete review than what you suggest should i upgrade to nougat or not ?It depends. I suggest, don't. If I were you, I wouldn't upgrade. But still, as I said earlier, it depends. Ok, let me clarify this. Yes, Nougat runs fairly well on J7 2016. It's smooth, it's not laggy at all. But! And a big but! Multitasking is poor. In simple words, it's poor. Multitasking was pretty good on marshmallow. But on nougat, it simply struggles to keep apps/web pages in memory.
Secondly, battery backup was way better on marshmallow. I wouldn't say it's poor on Nougat. In fact, it's decent. But it was just heavenly on marshmallow. Again, I'm not implying that Battery backup is poor on Nougat. It's just that it isn't as good as it was on marshmallow. It really isn't. It's a big deal to me battery backup was one of the primary reasons I purchased this phone. Other than these two things (battery backup and multitasking), everything else is pretty much the same.
Therefore, if you multitask, and if Battery backup is really important to you, I would advice against upgrading it. You may hold off until 7.1 update comes out for this phone. If 7.1 fixes those issues, you can go ahead and update your phone.
But if you don't multitask a lot, and you are ok with reduced battery backup (compared to marshmallow), you may go ahead and update it. Choice is yours :) I'm just trying to help you. Because If I were you, I wouldn't update. But that's only because I multitask, and as I said, I purchased this phone mainly because of it's damn good battery backup (on marshmallow). Ah, those good old days!
Btw, I'm from India and mine is SM-J710FN
Sania79, 16 Nov 2017Wow Overall complete review than what you suggest should i upgrade to nougat or not ?If you ask me, upgrade. UI design overall is better and you get some new features like multi window and others. Everything else is kinda the same, I don't multitask a lot so I have no problems with RAM.
