Looks like it all depends on region. I updated mine to 7.0 and I have no problems so far here in Croatia. I had my friend's J7 2017, and mine J7 2016 today in my hands and they are performing almost exactly the same. Main differences are in fingerprint scanner, full HD screen and build quality, but it's really not something groundbreaking to me. So yeah, if you have problems, you can either wait for Samsung to push update to fix them, reset the phone (might fix it), or just downgrade to Marshmallow (don't do it if you didn't do it before, since it can brick your phone).
In 7.0 update there is PROBLEM. When you are typing with keyboard and the screen is locked , when you want to unlock you can't because the patern isn't visible or pin code , so the solution is one and only - restart. Samsung please fix it.

friends i just update 7.0 but its to much hang i cant use my phone for 10mint long. After that it will shutdown and not restart phone , I'll have to remove battery and then restart device. what should i do plz help...
I don't really multitask too much, but it does the job for me. So, I can't really comment about RAM management too much. For me, it looks the same as it was on Marshmallow, and I have no problems with that. And by the way, why would someone need 8 internet tabs opened and in memory? I don't get it, but I guess that someone needs that...
AnonD-708981, 08 Nov 2017Yesterday I got my hands on my friend's Gionee X1. It has a Quad-core MT 6737 cpu clocked at 1... moreWait for Android 7.1.1 with Samsung Experience 8.5.Basically a better version of 7.0.1
And yeah multitasking is an issue for most of us,but for me it's fine since i don't multitask bunch of apps and it isn't that slow, but as the release of Android 7.1.1 that could just be improved.Plus this device has 2GB of Ram,but you know that some of this Ram goes on tge system so you have like 1,8GB of Ram on Demand instead of 2.And it just decreased on Nougat too.
Yesterday I got my hands on my friend's Gionee X1. It has a Quad-core MT 6737 cpu clocked at 1.3 Ghz, coupled with 2 gigs of ram. I'm not a fan of brands like Gionee, Xolo, Oppo......blah blah blah. But guess what, I was left surprised and hugely disappointed at the same time! Surprised?? Why? Because it could multitask like a champ!! Despite having only 2 gigs of ram and a fairly modest Quad core cpu!! I installed 'Samsung Internet beta' from play store, opened up 7 tabs, switched to different apps, and still it kept all 7 tabs in memory!! They didn't reload! Likewise, it kept every single app in it's memory! No reloading!! I was like, shell-shocked! And did I say that Gionee X1 runs 7.0 Nougat too?
If a phone like Gionee X1, with similar configurations can handle multitasking so efficiently, why not our J7 2016?? Doesn't it have an even more capable octa-core processor clocked higher than 1.3 Ghz?? I am stumped as to why it reloads apps/web-pages as often as it does. It's beyond me.
Yes, it used to multitask quite well on Marshmallow. Now it sucks at multitasking. While other phones running Nougat can still multitask just fine. I'm a big fan of Samsung. But I have to admit I'm left disappointed. Expected better from Samsung
Shafin, 07 Nov 2017My Samsung j710fn single sim (Tim) brought from Europe -- Italy.. Haven't got any Nougat updat... moreIt's probably because of carrier you bought it from. I got the same version as you, but mine was unlocked and I bought it from the store than was not connected with any carrier. Only thing you can do is wait for the update to start rolling out.

AnonD-708981, 05 Nov 2017Just curious - Did you factory reset your phone after upgrading to Nougat?Yes,not because of anything else but just because i had to do it so because i so was already running out of memory, and usually i format devices once or twice per year to keep it fresh.
