Are we going to get Android 7.1.1? Galaxy J7 pro runs Android 7.1.1, and it has the same exynos 7870 CPU. I understand that phone is priced higher. But my question is, are we going to get nougat 7.1 or not? Ever? And how different is 7.1 from 7.0, is it any different? From what I've heard, 7.1 runs smoother than 7.0. I'm not sure if it's true though

I have a question though - Does it void the warranty? I mean, downgrading the OS through ODIN? I read somewhere that Samsung doesn't allow this officially.
Thanks again for the response
Crocop, 20 Oct 2017Yeah, it's just Samsung's twisted logic. Lower end phones get better version than a bit higher... moreWill receve the update to 7.0 Nougat very very soon. Waiting will be worth it. I'm from Romania and receve the update on 19 October 2017 and have 1003.10Mb

But it is ... moreFirst things first my device does not have 128GB memory and it's not a special edition, secondly my battery is 3,300 mAh not 6k and my camera is 13/5 not 42/22 and it's measured in mpix not mb.Learn to think what to post before you actually post, because what your post might be wrong. The device i have is the same as everyone around here, except it's an UAE model and working fine.

Symbian addict, 19 Oct 2017First thing you have to do is learn the difference between MB, Mb, and mp.Sorry boss...my typos and automatic word selection of the mobile keyboard, next time I will try to rectify all my mistakes moreover my technical knowledge is not good. But if you have little commonsense you can understand all. Thanks for your comments

Downgrading is not a complicated process if you have the correct firmware, Odin, Windows PC/laptop, Samsung mobile drivers installed on your PC and little patience... First download latest Odin and install in pc, download and install Samsung drivers. Download firmware from either sammobile/updato.com, latter support faster download, downloaded file will be in zip format, so extract it. Now go to download mode, first turn off the mobile, wait for a minute, press volume down+home button+power simultaneously, if nothing happened and phone reboots ...try again. Open Odin, connect your device, must be in download mode, to the pc. If Odin detected your device it will show .com in blue color if not reinstall mobile drivers or uninstall kies, if it is installed in the pc. If everything is fine, you can see different tabs like ap, CP, bl and CSC... Just click on ap tab and find the previously extracted file, select and click open. Now Odin will check md5 valus, it will take 2/3 minutes. Then enter start tab in the Odin... Finally you will get a "pass" signal then remove the device. Go to recovery mode and reset your device ..
If any doubts just Google.... sorry for my English. I hope you understand the process... Good luck
Hey guys, I'm a J7(2016) user, and I'm from India. Recently I upgraded to Nougat, and just like everyone else, I don't like the update. My phone's battery life has taken a hit, and it's overall performance has gotten worse (compared to Marshmallow). Though by no means would I call it laggy, it's fairly smooth, but as I just mentioned, it's not as fast as Marshmallow. Things that really bother me are 1) Battery life isn't as good as MM 2) Performance has degraded, Samsung's Official web browser (that came preinstalled) fails to keep two or three tabs in memory when I multitask (switch to other apps). So I wanted to downgrade it to MM. I looked it up and found out that there is a way to downgrade the OS, through ODIN (don't know anything about it). And from what I read, there's a possibility that it might brick my phone if I don't do it properly. Can you guys please guide me through the whole procedure? I'd be really grateful if someone does that. I'm too scared to do it without proper knowledge, I'm afraid I might end up with a bricked phone, which is only a month old.
And I never wanted to upgrade, I wanted to stay on MM since it was working flawlessly. One day I just tapped on upgrade accidentally (in the settings app). And it started to download the update, even though I turned off my wifi, it resumed when I turned it back on.
Btw, I'd like to know if downgrading it to MM will void it's warranty? Please guide me through the steps. I really want to go back to MM. Thanks in advance!
