Impulse, 16 Sep 2017My device keeps saying the "latest updates have been installed" and im using the SM-G610F mode... moreImpulse, there are variants of J7 Prime for example: UAE has the CSC Code XSG and LYS, Nigeria ECT, India INS, Israel ILO, etc, meaning that each country with J7 Prime has Firmware (or Operating System as we know in Computers) peculiar to that country. Some J7 Prime are coded by country as explained above, therefore J7 Prime used in Nigeria, for instance, may not work in other countryÂ’s network except it has been unlocked by default from the manufacturer. But in most cases, cell phones sold in Nigeria can work with international networks. This being said, Samsung releases Firmware updates to various countries at different times. If you have been following comments, you will discover there are some users who complained that the update has not yet been released for their countries. Same with Nigeria. I have checked a particular website where every release is published. Nigeria, on this particular J7 Prime, has not yet received the update as at this moment. It may be out in the next moment, that wouldnÂ’t be surprising anyway. You will wonder that I live in Nigeria and yet was able to update my phone to Nougat 7.0. Yes, the reason is because, like I said in my very first comment, I ordered the phone from USA and it is SM-G610F but with United Arab Emirate (UAE) CSC Code XSG. Also, the phone is International variant which means that it has been unlocked by default to work with any network in the world. I am sure your phone CSC code would be ECT which is yet to receive the update. You can check for the CSC code of your J7 Prime and the CSC Version. With these details, we can check to see if the Nougat update is out or not. I hope this helps. Thanks.
Though I am using Galaxy devices but I also keep an eye on other devices for popular brands. I notice one particular thing. The thing is fast battery draining and slow battery charging with Nouget upgrade.
I saw this issue reported by Mi Note 4, Honor 6X, Galaxy A5 (2016) users. May be some other devices also have this issue which I have not noticed yet. Many users are even saying that no one should upgrade Nouget.
So, that is thier view. What I think is companies take months to test new OS on their devices and than they released it. Take the example of J7 Prime, it is almost 1 year old device now and so the Nouget is. Samsung took long 1 year to realeased it. They are testing with hundred of combination is apps to see what works and what not.
But again there are at least thousand of users with million of combination. They installed legal apps from play store or APK files from third party sites. Some even use root or jail breaking etc. In short company makes a devices and released it for a particular use. No company can calculate how these devices will used or abused or misused by the end user. Not even Samsung, Apple, Moto, Lenovo, Asus, Xiaomi, OPPO or Vivo can tell this.
Also I feel that expecting a normal user to know the upgrade/update/reset/maintainance process is useless. Most common user knows very little about how their Android device works.
Anyway the morale of the story is brands should provide major updates on only flagship models. And if it provides updates to mid range device, than it should do so only by service center.
As for common user. I will say don't do anything unless you know what you are doing. If you have any doubt than take professional assistance.

They are very good steps to follow for anyone having similar issues on their J7 Prime. I observed that many users who upgraded their J7 Prime by following the prompt on their phone and downloading the update via their phone have battery issues. Like Kunalmzr said, a fresh reset after the upgrade might do well to resolve the battery issue. Another alternative is to download the Nougat 7 firmware corresponding to your 7 Prime by country and use it to upgrade your 7 Prime via Odin. The size of the firmware is about 4GB. In case you don't know how to do this, you may seek the help of a professional. Thanks.

The upgrade was successful, didn't take up to 25 minutes to complete. After upgrade, all my previous installed apps still functioned properly. The UI is fantastic. It's a light OS which answers to the improved performance of the phone. I read here of users having trouble with battery after upgrade. I don't know why but mine charges speedily to 100% full. The only demerit I observed was all my apk files refused to install, giving me the error message "THERE IS A PROBLEM PARSING THE PACKAGE". After a little research, I was able to fix it by going into Settings, Apps, Tap on the 3 vertical dots on the top right hand corner, then tap on RESET APP PREFERENCES. With this done, I could install all my downloaded apk files without issue. Hope this helps anyone having similar issue after upgrade. Thanks.
My device keeps saying the "latest updates have been installed" and im using the SM-G610F model and i leave in Nigeria please what is happening

I'm not a single person to face this issue..N... moreI have not said that the issue is not there. But said that my device has no issue like that first. And second you should check the battery usage of your device. After upgrading many old apps creates problems like battery draining, crashing, freezing etc. So it is best to check your device first, second update all your apps, remove any unused apps third. It is the best to format the device and make a fresh start. Small example, I don't use Google TV and Movies, so I disable it. But it showed time to time that "Google TV and Movies is stopped error" in marshmallow OS in both my J7 Prime and On7 Prime. After the Nouget update, it is not there on my J7 Prime, but hunting me on my On7 pro.
Last but least, if my device take 9 long hours to charge, than I will immediately visit the nearest Samsung Service Cetre for assistance. And please don't call me "dude or mate", Kuanl will be enough. Regards.
After completion of overnight software updates.. the phone become very slow and not able to open gmail and it's very frequently hanging.. the icons looks very unprofessional totally annoying
