Okay. I was a bit skeptical about going for samsung as I had an older image of the phones hanging. However, I went for it on a friend's recommendation and here's what I have to say after 15 days of heavy usage-
1) Brilliant Display. The 1080 display does it's job well. Viewing in bright sunlight isn't a problem either.
2) Battery life is absolutely lovely. I was using Xperia Z1 before this, which had a fine battery life and lasted close to a day. However, J7 prime changed my definition of a good battery life. This last over 1½ day on HEAVY usage including gaming, endless calls, 24X7 mobile data on.
3) Premium design metal finish.
4) The option to delete bloatware without rooting. You can delete even the preinstalled calculator.
5) Camera: Exceptional quality even in low loght conditions, powerful flash for rear camera and screen flash for front camera like on iPhone 7.
6) Fast processing. No hanging issues at all. Handles over 150 applications(downloaded) and runs about 30-40 at a time without lag. The 3GB ram does its work well.
7) Enjoyable and smooth toucscreen experience. Good to use and a nice responsive touchscreen.
8) 5.5". I was using a 5" screen and was firm about not going for a tad bigger one, but when I checked thr phone out, it cleared the misconceptions. This phone is good with the screen size, doesn't feel too big.
9) Speaker- the side speaker made me feel a bit odd, but I found the placing better. When the speaker is on the underside, it sometimes gets covered and cannot produce proper effects. However, the side speaker takes care of this brilliantly. Coming to the loudness and sound quality, it's a 10/10 for loudness and 9/10 for quality.
10) Gaming isn't a problem. This runs heavy games like Asphalt and GTA without lag.
There are negative reviews about this device, but I could find no cons till date. If you're in a state of confusion about some xyz brand or samsung, go for j7 prime. The phone works better than your expectations.
Don't buy this phone...... These people are cheaters....
I own this mobile since 5 months.. many problems as already mentioned on this forum. but I would like to add my today's worst experience.
Due to rain (sudden heavy rain when I was riding bike) it is obvious that phone in your pocket will get wet and expose to moisture. With little humidity and drops of water entering inside without my knowledge costing me Rs. 11000/-. My phone was OFF, when I saw it after reaching shade from rain. I just kept it and reached home. I let it to dry itself entire night. I tried to switch it on in the morning after drying it using hair dryer for some time. It got switched ON with battery showing 70%, but to my surprise when I connected it to charger it is showing "charging paused. battery temperature too low.".... That means I canÂ’t charge my mobile anymore...!!!!!
I took this mobile to SAMSUNG authorized service centre... After opening and spending about 10 min on it... they simply said I must replace mother board with new one and which will cost about Rs. 11000/-. Then I asked it is getting ON and working normal…. could be some issue with temperature sensor only… They said YES.... but that temperature sensor is on main board (mother board) they can’t just replace that part... so I have to buy new holy “mother board" to get my mobile to normal working condition... WOW....!!! just great…!!! What a Mobile I have….!!!!
How can they design such thing for mobile... it is obviousÂ….. there are many dam reason to get water on mobile by mistake but you have to change entire mother board costing 80% of mobile cost....!!!!! We don't need such advanced technology, where we have to use such phone more careful than ourselves... what is the use of such high end mobile costing 18K... for obvious mistakes not even covered under warranty costing user 11K.... otherwise would have costed some few hundred of rupees in other brandsÂ….....!!!!!
Now I am planning to buy 8-10K new mobile (obviously not SAMSUNG) instead of replacing mother board of Rs. 11KÂ…..!! I think India with rain is not suitable for these SAMSUNG so called high end mobilesÂ….!!!!

After the 35mb update, the phone battery really drains quickly and charging is too slow, It takes more than 3 hour to charge the battery fully.
I am using J7 Prime for last January and pretty satisfied with it. Never faced any lag, freeze or hanging issues like some users reported. Also camera is good if not excellent. I have posted few images on my Instagram account which is proof. As for gaming I played a lot of medium games on it; but now I am done with them. Overall my device is good for money. Only thing I miss is 32 GB ROM.
Special declaration: my device is "Made In India". I don't use any 3rd party launcher or keyboard. Also I don't installed any APK file from any site as they may harm device. All my apps are installed and updated from Google playstore or Galaxy apps store. As for security I use "Jio Security" which is made by Norton and provided by Jio Service provider. As for cleaning and maintain I use built in "Smart Manager" app.Currently I have 51 apps total in my device.
So this is all about my device. I advice everything based on my device and it's usage. I will not say that all my answers or your questions are 100% accurate or false. Because every device is different and so the user is. So, I can't say that every device in every country will behave like same way as mine. Hence, I can give an advice or answer on common sense and my experience, don't treat it as a true professional service center advice. Regards.

As for the camera it is good and far better than Mi devices in its price range. As for comparing it to One Plus 5 which cost 30,000 INR or almost double the price of J7 Prime is. It acceptable.
Samsung mini pay is awesome. Currently it supports PayTM and Mobiqick wallets along with hundreds of bank accounts in India. To use your bank account you have to use the SIM no registered with the bank. Set up is easy, fast and simple.
Anyway you can access the app by swapping below the Home button in Homescreen and lockscreen. I like the way you can still use it without unlocking the device in store, as it make sure your device is secure. Overall you can pay, transfer and receive money using it. Without NFC it is little less than A5 or other NFC devices. But still it is far better. I mean earlier we have to unlock the device than open the PayTM and than scan the code to pay the bill which takes about 3/5 minutes. But now you just swap from the Home button and click on the scan directly in less than 1 minute.
A new way to do old things in a faster way. Regards.
