Go & try Z Ultra them come back to post ur comments.
1.7 duo core 1.5 GB RAM vs 2.2 quad core 2 GB RAM.
I have never saw such a great speed of GPS lock even in Note 2, great screen , great battery , compact in size keeping 6.3" , great camera , great speed.

Enjoy your enormous phone with unsuitably low power "superior" 3000mah battery which can't be switched with another one (some of us grown-ups need that, since we're not near a charger 24/7 like you), "superior" screen with on-screen buttons which mean you get much less actual screen size, "superior" rushed Android UI, "superior" camera that has no flash, "superior" performance that no one cares about in the real world, "superior" heavier weight, "superior" GPS that takes much longer to lock onto a satellite, and "superior" radio chips which drain your battery more in standby as well as during conversation.
Anonymous, 09 Aug 2013I have tested both Z Ultra & Mega, all I can said is Z Ultra out performed Mega by light y... moreI agree that the XZU is a superior phone...with a "superior" price tag too. I guess it depends on whether one is willing to pay the price difference between the Mega and this.
If one considers the Mega in practical day to day usage then I would say that it's worth every cent. The differences in performance of these 2 phablets are pretty minor to the average user. Let's face it, no one is going to play high end 3D games throughout the day etc.
My main usage are web browsing, twitter, some facebook, maybe a game or 2, whatsapp. Therefore, the Mega is more than enough for what I do....and perhaps the majority of users.
One more thing to consider, Samsung had incorporated lots of tweaks and options in the UI and Sony is pretty basic and bare in comparison. One of the many features which is present in all samsung phones is keeping the zoom constant when viewing pictures in gallery even when phone is rotated between landscape and portrait orientation. Doubt Sony has that.

It is absolutely rubbish when other said they can bring spare battery for Mega, I mean do u charge a battery theb take it out & insert another one ? then your phone battery connector may spoil within few months, nowadays people bring power bank for travel, 1 power bank equal to few batteries, therefore non removable battery is a non issue.
The only drawback of Z Ultra is lack of camera flash which I think is mistake Sony shouldn't have done.
Z Ultra simply beat Mega in overall performance.
rrached, 09 Aug 2013Thank you so much for your review! That definitely got me more excited to get it. Do you face ... moreNo problem with overheating. Actually this phone is very thermally efficient. See the section in the Mega 6.3 review by notebookcheck about heat, they have a good overview of it in their reviews.
I've had an issue with the YouTube app crashing when starting a video, got a message that "YouTube stopped working" a few times. Retrying to view the video works fine after that. I guess it will be fixed in a next version of the app or the firmware.
The Air View feature hasn't worked for me when I tried it. I think it may be that it only works with certain things like certain websites. I don't mind, though.
Amazingly I've had no other issues. I have an I9205 from France with the first firmware (May 16th build, XEF region), no newer firmware available for the French firmware yet. I don't intend to root it or install any firmware with Odin or whatever.
By the way, this is one of the phones that works perfectly for recording a conversation. Perfect quality, no issues. Use the ACR app. (no root needed)
I also installed the Disable Increasing Ring app to disable this idiotic limitation by Samsung. Works transparently with no problem.

That definitely got me more excited to get it. Do you face any problems with the phone overheating? Or do you face any problems with it in general?

For the last 3 days I've used the phone pretty minimally with a couple of hours of conversation, some browsing and gmail usage, a little Google Maps GPS usage, about an hour and a half of music listening with headphones (with Neutron player), mobile data is always on, and I have 12% left right now. Of course, with heavier usage it would get drained much sooner. Also while indoors I can easily set the screen to quite low brightness and it's still very comfortable to read, so it allows saving much more battery time than less power efficient screens like AMOLED. You could easily get at least 12 hours of ridiculously heavy usage (full brightness, on all the time, wi-fi on, gps on, max cpu, multiple apps, etc.)
I am looking to buy this phone tomorrow but I am worried mainly about the battery life. Can someone please give me more details about it if you currently own the phone?

For example I'll compare Note 2's 5.55 inch screen to Mega 6.3's 6.3 inch screen. Hmm, Mega's screen is much bigger so there's "hardly any comparison", plus it's much better quality. Hmmmm....
Do not compare Mega to Note 2.. Mega is a big phone but nothing compare to Note 2. Note 2 is still the best phablet.

for testing of this phone.. i can say it is quite good performance that can compare or better than s3(even it is a dual core processor phone, the ui work smooth)...but 1 things i can tell u that note2 is still faster than this..
anywhere the big screen and nice
I recently seen a really good cheap clone of it that had very good specs on youtube the guy was called Jimmys Apple. If you want check him he makes videos for clones of many popular smartphones
Anonymous, 08 Aug 2013Haha u r comparing Z Ultra with Galaxy Mega...lol... Z ultra beat mega in every aspect except ... moreYou must be kidding. Z Ultra is:
Needlessly huge with too much bezel and horrible pointy edges. It's nowhere near as comfortable and fitting in a pocket like Galaxy Mega 6.3.
It has a worse, non-removable battery and it doesn't last as long, and non-removable is far from safe and you can't switch batteries in long travels.
It has On-Screen buttons! That means you get less resolution / picture size than you actually should. See for yourself how people get black bars in apps/games. Why the hell get a large screen if not all of it is used?
The higher RAM and faster CPU is pointless in real world performance, and so is the higher resolution screen, unless you're a weirdo who looks at his phone from one centimeter away.

Obviously you haven't actually used it. There is no real lag in Mega 6.3, it's mostly short UI lag when power saving mode is enabled. This phone can easily handle anything.
