This was my 2nd Android phone. I had so much cool memories with this unit. Gaming was good as well as the camera, back then, that is. However, this ended up in the hands of my, uhhh, "girl-who-I-courted-but-she-only-used-me-for-my-money" person. Yeah. Okay.
dam THICC phone. very sturdy too. felt rigid in my hand. to me it was way more resistant than the Note 8 i own now. i dropped it 1000s of times
Actually im using this gadget and not gonna change it to a new phone probably to a galaxy s7 not edge i dont know if ill do so
mini 2, 03 Feb 2019can installing android go on this device? The hardware, especially the CPU power, is most likely too weak to run any more recent Android version than KitKat 4.4.4.
Hi there, here follows my opinion:
Thanks to the awesome CM11 (KitKat 4.4.4) release 20180710 this phone still runs GREAT. So I use it also in 2019 as my second phone. That last CM11 release works for me better then the original stock firmware 2.3.6. The only thing which is not supported under KitKat is NFC, - this may be fixed sometimes with a patch. More information regarding that final CM11 release can be found here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-mini/mini-2-dev/rom-cyanogenmod-11-stable-mini-2-s6500-t3293891
Nice to know, - the mini 2 is also in 2019 one of the smallest Android phone. It is also the only phone in that size range which offers NFC functionality. No Android Go device offers this so far. Some Android Go apps like Maps Go works also on KitKat quite well. But don't expect ultra performance. The mini 2 is a low low-hardware device, - and that's the reason why it won't run any higher Android version than KitKat (which was made also for low hardware phones). ;-)
My first phone back in 2013 ^^ i used it 3 years before switching. It was a good phone so dont listen to trollers. At the time that was good phone lol. Anyway i had fun with him :)
My first smartphone was a Samsung (Galaxy Spica i5700). It was a good phone for its time and when the time for upgrading came, I started looking for a new model.
Samsung said they would bring Android 4.x to this phone, so I bought this one instead of a similar HTC model (Desire C as far as I remember), which already had Android 4.x
-The official update never came. Not even a single word was said from Samsung after...
-The screen was worse than any other fake Chinese phones. Bad viewing angles from sides, looking directly to the screen was a threat for my eyes, etc.
I regret that I played my card on Samsung. This was my last Samsung product I'd ever bought.

It was one of my best phones. it resisted longer than my samsung corby 2 and samsung galaxy core prime in term of slow, freezes and heating up
don't buy it in 2016or further more! it had its time back in 2011/2012
my very first smart phone! it was cute, cheap, and hella strong! lasted for 4 years. it had its own problems. slow, freezes, heats up, slow recharging, 3mp cam, can't run a big sum of apps and that used to break my heart and insult my empty wallet..
but it was a really lucky start for me with smartphones considering buying it ages ago!
I hate hate hate this phone. It is slow continually freezes. How do you unblock a number?
