AnonD-12118, 28 Dec 2011pls elaborate.. i own s2 & thinking of changing to G.Nexus, but comparing the specs,... moreSpecs are better on paper in favour of SGS2, but in real life it's different... Nexus performs better ( I am not saying its the best)as it's perfectly harmonized. As they say : Pure Android experience... Go for it, you won't regret. S3 might have quad-core or 15MPx camera, but honestly,I didn't saw big differences from Desire S(single core 1GHz) and Sensation(2-core , 1.2GHz)... I think important is the RAM. So imo, even if you have 2-4 core phone, if low RAM (under 768MB) is no point to get it...
AnonD-34829, 28 Dec 2011Before I bought it, I watched every video in you tube, benchmarks and etc etc. In every video ... moreNice one. I am in same boat as you do. Love my Nexus, but keeping Sensation for a bit longer... Just in case :-)
AnonD-23701, 29 Dec 2011hey .. what about the battery life .. how long it lasts ... thanks ......It depends how you use it and how is set up... I am getting 2 1/2 days with light usage, and under heavy use a day and 1/2 (with BT headset on for 8 hours daily).
AnonD-12118, 29 Dec 2011Honestly, I'm not a heavy user, so number is not that important for me, as long as it perform ... moreeven if Samsung release ICS for SGS2 it will be overshadowed by TouchWiz UI. I got mine on xmas and no regrets at all. Had SGS 2 (sold) and HTC Sensation, but they aren't so smooth as Nexus is...
Arash, 29 Dec 2011Samsung Galaxy Nexus: No Gorilla Glass ! No Radio ! No Mini HDMI! No Card slot! Camera 5 ... moreBefore you ask stupid questions try the device. its not all about spec. this phone is well set up and runs smoothly. ..
I own this phone and is fantastic is fast and battery is good,it can last up to 1 day ,hop this can help .
Samsung Galaxy Nexus:
No Gorilla Glass !
No Radio !
No Mini HDMI!
No Card slot!
Camera 5 MP!
Radio, 27 Dec 2011Samsung has failed with this device for not having an FM radiodon't be so cheap , listen to internet radios!!!
can someone pls confirm there's no TV-OUT? i would be so disappointing!
AnonD-34829, 28 Dec 2011Before I bought it, I watched every video in you tube, benchmarks and etc etc. In every video ... moreHonestly, I'm not a heavy user, so number is not that important for me, as long as it perform in real life, no lag in everyday use, I'll be happy.
Screen is tied for me ( samoled plus & gorilla glass vs samoled hd )
is browsing really that good? they're both using 1.2ghz procc & i believe exynos + Mali a better combination?
battery : I have big concern, it is just 100mah larger than sgs2, for a bigger screen.. & isnít samoled plus is a more battery saving than samoled?
camera : 9/10? seriously? Iíve yet to find one review that rate the camera above average?
overall experience is 10/10? 100% better than s2?
dude, that is so wrong.
Other things like lower resolution for front cam, no microsd support, (radio is small matter for me, no prob)
But I must say that I like the design better.. Also about the same thickness as my s2 on 2000mah extended batt.
zero shutter lag is also impressive.
Ics will also comes to s2.
The only prob is, I donít have the patience to wait..
Damn, the heart say go for it, the head say wait & see how Samsung integrate Ics into s2..
thanks for ur info, glad that u like it.. i'll make up my mind after g.nexus officially launched here in a week or so..
Since I have to have the latest software updates I'm going for the GN despite any faults. A very well balanced and thorough review that helped me make my mind: http://www.stuff-review.com/2011-12/samsung-galaxy-nexus-complete-review/
AnonD-12118, 28 Dec 2011pls elaborate..
i own s2 & thinking of changing to G.Nexus,
but comparing the specs,... moreBefore I bought it, I watched every video in you tube, benchmarks and etc etc. In every video posted they show sgs2 as the winner expect for browsing speed. After a little research I came to something interesting, in fact benchmarks are made for android 2.3. So the numbers shown there are not so important.
Here is a quick review.
browser performance 10/10
speaker loudness 6/10
for me overall experience is 10/10
This android 4.0 is not the same like in sgs2.
Remember I own both sgs2 also, for my taste The galaxy nexus is 100% better
AnonD-34829, 27 Dec 2011I guess u own a gs2. I have both and when I compare s2 with nexus. Makes me feel sad about the... morepls elaborate..
i own s2 & thinking of changing to G.Nexus,
but comparing the specs, s2 is better me think,
it will get ics 1st Q next year.
pls write your own unbias comparison,
maybe i'd change to g.nexus rather than wait for s3
AnonD-34829, 27 Dec 2011I guess u own a gs2. I have both and when I compare s2 with nexus. Makes me feel sad about the... moreIm talking about the S2 HD Lte. You can also see the bench mark test. S2 HD Lte out scores the Nexus. The Nexus is also limited on the Lte frequency (700). Where as the s2 Hd Lte has 3 choises (800/1800/2600). The "S" IS the Samsung Flagship. Proven on paper, numbers and bench mark tests. I'm not knocking you for owning a Nexus. To each their own. I just prefer a 1st place winner over a 2nd place runner-up.
AnonD-34550, 17 Dec 2011I heard from people this phone its really Awesome. I am plaining to get this Phone. what shoul... moreReally , you get Galaxy Nexus. I hold GSII half year then change it Nexus, although GSII more performance was good, but one of this new model with Android 4.0 , you have it , can enjoy the new discover techni. early.
Peter, 26 Dec 2011Comparing the specs of S2HD-Lte vs Nexus: 1. Nexus has weaker a weaker front camera 2. Nexus... moreI guess u own a gs2. I have both and when I compare s2 with nexus. Makes me feel sad about the s2. U just go ahead and calculate the numbers in paper, but in real life its different.
