I got October update today. Some of my friends still use note 9 and still like it. So yes I deff agree with your comment 😃

The air gestures for My S pen stopped , they told me the phone need to a new software to solve this problem .
And my touch Screen is scratched and I wanna sell anew touch Scraan protector but I don't know from which online store.
Please help.

In the past I'd noticed while checking manually that an update was sometimes available and I'd not yet received the notification. . I used the Note 9 and Note 10 Plus simultaneously and there wasn't any difference in my user experience. Rene Ritchie says "Buy the best phone you can afford and use it as long as possible"🙂. As long as I'm getting security patches I'm good (which is until August 2023). Though I was recently amazed to see a colleague of mine still using his 4 years old 64 GB Note 8

But il keep checking manually as that's the only way to get updates. I thought a notification would come up saying software update. But that never happens. Do you normally get a notification letting you know there's an update or is this normal checking manually?

Even security updates are quarterly... moreAt the time of announcing this phone, 2 major software updates was the norm even in flagship lines. Aside Google, no android maker offered more than 2. Then, Samsung announced that it, alongside a few others, is a candidate for 3 major updates, there was fanfare. People were pleased. It became a key pro. Samsung got praised.
Now, I'm curious, what changed? Didn't y'all know about this before making the purchase? If you didn't know, it'd be your fault since it's pretty much public knowledge, one readily available. If you did know, yet went ahead to buy it, why the chatter and complaints over something you had prior knowledge of yet chose? If it got 13, maybe it would also get 14, because why not, right?
Don't get me wrong, I'd love to get Android 13 and One UI 15, but the chatter is quite frankly irrational. Maybe even unnecessary.

security patch 1st november now.Nothing new in sight in Europe.
Damn Sammy at it again. It's a shame. Such a good device gets sacrified on purpose because of planned obsolence. It could easily master 1-2 more years of usage.
The fruit that shall not be named updates devices for approximately 6 years. Six years of usage easily possible (although with 2-3 battery replacements).
