bought this phone in 2021
heres my summary:
1. my screen is dying, few days ago there is 1 tiny purple line in the middle of the screen ran through from top to bottom, but now its gone. the screen itself is very beautiful, modern medium ranged phone amoled still cant fight this samsung amoled screen.
2. battery still strong, i used to limit charge to 85%.
3. spen battery is dead, if i open air actions, it will drain the phone battery while idling by constant acf of recharging. turning off the features solved the issue.
4. the main camera autofocus sucks, hard to lock in.
5. curved screen sucks, no wonder they kill this feature.
6. back casing glue seems to be disintegrating slowly along the edges, i can see the back case moving if i put abit of pressure.
even after all this shortcoming i am still using it as my main phone, i have 2-3 at a time( i keep changing the other phone, my latest one is realme gt 7 pro)
and to all other who might have interest to buy this phone as 2nd hand purchase, i advise u not, i took care of my phone very dearly, still the screen is dying, processor also is way out of the league now. thats all.

It's silly to say something like that because if most people experienced what you claim to have experienced, those phones wouldn't have become so popular. To spell it out for you, those phones would have been discontinued after a year or two.

But to answer your question, it's the update from two and half years ago, the last major update.

Anonymous, 26 Jan 2025was a good phone but the green line made this bad. why samsung you have to do these? one updat... moreYes, you are right, that was very disappointing for Samsung. And in many countries, they refused to take responsibility for their bad updates.
I got the lines after the last major updates, two and half years ago. To make matters, the local Samsung repair centre denied responsibility, alleging I must have dropped the phone. This was complete hogwash! Fortunately, the phone was still under the Samsung Care Warranty. So, they had to fix the screen/display under that warranty. As part of the warranty agreement, they also replaced the battery. Thus I'm still using this five year old buddy of mine.
But I do have to point out that Samsung is not all that, despite my other positive experiences with them. And I was very pierced when their local branch blamed the lines on me even though the lines happened as a result of a software malfunction!

It's 5 years this week since I bought it.
But that doesn't mean phone is that good. It was replaced under warranty two years ago.
But no heating problems before or after battery replacement

Im not bothered about software updates after getting 7.0 on s24 ultra which ruined battery life. Im using my note 20 ultra now because its a great note.

Point of correction! I think there's no 6GB variant of the phone, base Ram version is 8Gigs. It's all I wanted to point out

It do... moreIve note 20 ultra Exynos model and i can tell you i don't have the problems you mention. Infact my s24 ultra is snapdragon and its a heating machine. That's why I stopped using it and with 7.0 update its useless. Im back to using my N20U 5g and everything is great.
