AnonD-430264, 15 Mar 2016I do a fair amount on the phone, yes. 40% of my business is done on the phone: research, apps,... moreYep, phones are used in every activity of our lives, from navigation to monitoring sports, sending emails, web browsing, reading a book, watching tv or a movie, showing friends photos, as a camera, data storage (apart from the GN5), social media... the list is endless and different for everyone.
Weather we like it or not phones are being used more and more and it wont change. Hopefully the GN6 gets a substantial battery bump to become the ultimate phone again. :-)
AnonD-514588, 14 Mar 2016Note 5 is a beast ..with marshmallow its performance has increased big time . one of the best ... moreWhat specific performance increases have you noticed that are dramatic enough to be considered "big time?"
Lawrence, 14 Mar 2016After updating to marshmallow, battery performance has dropped badly on note 5. Hope samsung r... moreThat's what I was worried about. Think I'll skip until they fix (if they fix).
Tcool, 14 Mar 2016As if you have nothing to do for the whole day but to operate your phone.
Are you still worki... moreI do a fair amount on the phone, yes. 40% of my business is done on the phone: research, apps, uploading videos/pictures, calls, texts.
Also going back to college to learn a new skill to include in the business and I do quite a bit of that on the phone also.
The rest is calls to family, friends, apps, Web browsing, videos, photos - I don't game on the phone as I do that on the powerhouse desktop.
I sleep normally, get up early to do yoga then hit the Bowflex at noon. Spend plenty of time with the fiancé when she's around but she's ultra busy herselfnow plus were going through a complete house renovation.
Typical day that gets it all done with sleep. But, the phone is a major companion if you can't tell, so when I have to restart because the screen sticks in horizontal (not just in 3rd party apps but also TouchWiz), it's annoying and of course I'm going to complain. Am I complanning about SD cards or removable battery? No
Tcool, 14 Mar 2016Sorry, didn't beat Note 5 more than 24 hours.
Try again...I guess you're a man who can accept facts easily, or you can't do math. Fact is, I showed you a screen shot with 21 hours usage with 5 more hours left, and the usage was started from 70% battery. That's easily more than 24 hours.
I will not sacrifice doing "light" usage for you, as I'm always using my Galaxy Note with heavy 4 GB of LTE daily. All I can show you is 33 hours of HEAVY use with my extended battery, with 4GB on LTE, 6+ SOT. You can see my Feb. 29 flickr post for that evidence.
You would say I'm cheating, as I'm using a 10000 mAh battery. But that's the wonderful thing about removable batteries - you have control of the capacity you need.
I don't have to stop and charge.
I don't have to carry powerbanks.
I don't have to carry an extra phone like you.
You carry a Huawei ShotX for your Note.5 WiFi needs so you can get by "24 hours" of "regular use".
My advice is to get yourself a Zerolemon exterior 8500 mAh battery to keep your Note.5 juiced up and protected integrated onto the Note.5. At least you would not need to carry a plastic Huawei ShotX for your LTE needs.
After updating to marshmallow, battery performance has dropped badly on note 5. Hope samsung role out an update soon to fix the issue
Hi Friends iam from India need to know when can we get update of Android 6 Marshmallow
AnonD-77443, 14 Mar 2016Gee you say some silly things tcool.
Maybe because it is a good compromise between battery li... moreI already told you there are midrange phones with 4000mAh battery.
Do some research will you!
And they are not that thick and heavy as you think.
Now who looks silly?
Tcool, 14 Mar 2016How about a screen shot of Note 3 light use reaching 24 hours?
How about using the microphone... moreI already showed you my January 15 battery usage, showing 21 hours on battery usage with 5 hours left, plus I only started on the 70% mark of the battery. Wifi only, of course. I still managed to get 4H43M of Screen On Time usage. You even commented how my LTE service is therefore useless.
Look for the January 15 post on my flicker. You are a listed follower of my posts.
Make up your mind - you either condescend on people using LTE, OR people using wifi. Which one are you despising? I have both services.
Note 5 is a beast ..with marshmallow its performance has increased big time . one of the best android devices currently available .
AnonD-430264, 14 Mar 2016I'm not really interested in a removable battery as I'm fine with what I have. But, Samsung is... moreThe major reason why I want a removable is power utilitarian and efficiency. I can cary just one pocketable device with the ability of double or triple the stock, without powerbank, and no stopping for an outlet.
I'm surprised why manufacturers and customers would actually want thinner devices with smaller sealed batteries, when functional, and LTE demands are increasing.
Why inherit the power charging problems of iOS users? Main point is giving buyers the choice to swap batteries is something. Eliminating it for a fragile glass-backed finish for irrational "fast wireless charging" that actually contribute to battery degradation is short term thinking.
Tcool, 14 Mar 2016So why do you aim for 4000mAh only?
Why not aim for 10000mAh for Note 6?Gee you say some silly things tcool.
Maybe because it is a good compromise between battery life and phone weight / thickness.
I wouldn't mind a battery over 4000 mAh but that simply wont happen with the current technology.
AnonD-430264, 14 Mar 2016I'm not really interested in a removable battery as I'm fine with what I have. But, Samsung is... moreTherefore we have no issue with removable or non removable battery.
End of story.
AnonD-430264, 14 Mar 2016There's only 24 hours in a day, so why would you need another phone for heavier usage? If you ... moreAs if you have nothing to do for the whole day but to operate your phone.
Are you still working in the day and do you still sleep at night?
Working 8 hours a day and sleeping 8 hours at night, you will not have enough time for heavy use of phone. Unless you will use the remaining time of your day for the phone only and take for granted bonding with your family and friends. No more watching TV series, movies and shows on the big screen. No more time for sports and fitness.
TN, 14 Mar 2016LG5 - there's hope for removable battery for future Samsung flagships. I'm not really interested in a removable battery as I'm fine with what I have. But, Samsung isn't in competition with LG (worldwide), they want to be Apple. Yes, I know they might be in competition with LG in Korea, but - that's a niche market.
TN, 14 Mar 2016Good question. How about a screen shot of Note 3 light use reaching 24 hours?
How about using the microphone on top of S7 as IR blaster?
