The only reason why they get "24 hours" is minimal >1 hour screen on time daily usage, notifications off, using wifi or 3G instead of LTE. Screen On Time usage is one way of measuring the stamina of the battery.
If you have your notifications are on and constantly updating, and on a weak network signal area, your device can get >4 hours SOT over a span of >15 hours. This is not a surprise as Galaxy Notes 2 to 5 are similar in hardware. I even confirmed these findings with my collegues' Notes 4 and .5 models, even S6.
And somebody claim "24 hours" with full screen brightness,

I was down to 12% with just over 3 hours SOT. I charged the phone for a bit to just over 26% and now I'm back down to 16%. Instead of the numbers resetting in the stats they just keep going. I'm now going on 4 hours SOT. Let's see if I can keep going with small charges.
Got my note 5 last December it's ok, but not so impressed by it!

I make sure I change to new set in a year. They think seeing the percentile battery indicator is correct.
As for light usage - my supervisor can even get 3 days on one charge because he uses the Note.5 for mostly calls and text. He turns it off nightly. Total SOT is just 3 hours. Nothing so special in bragging about having a charge lasting "24 hours" because of light usage.

Sallu, 10 Mar 2016Which one to buy....note 4 or note5???? as i have never used note series smartphones before..Depends on your use.
Note 5 is a bit quicker, looks better, has a bit better camera.
Note 4 has 4-8x the storage space with an sd card, better battery life, replaceable battery, is stronger in drop tests and is cheaper.

My Note 4 gets about 9-10 hours of really heavy use and can get close to 2 days on very light use (now that i have replaced the 18 month old battery which was at 60% health). The key thing is screen on time and what you are doing. 1 hour of a game like Clash on 4G will chew 4x the battery life of 1 hour of reading an e book which is a lot more than 1 hour on standby.
The Note 5 battery is good (but not great these days) with an 85 hour endurance... im hoping the GN6 will be great with over 100 hours endurance.

Last night I Update My N5 to Marshmallow 6.0.1 in UAE. one Day Experience is Quite Better
Its been 2 n half month i am using note 5. I am a moderate to heavy user. Playing games, web browsing, YouTube. The phone never hanged. Battery life was between 14 to 19 hours with SOT 3 to 4 n half hours respectively. Sometimes on heavy usage batery has dropped from 100 to 30 in 6 hours with SOT 3 hours.
AnonD-183089, 11 Mar 2016what about the battery life?Just updated it last night. Will have to see it for a few days to have a say about the battery
