on smar... moreIt would be that bad la! It depends how your take care of your phone battery la!
The main concern is advise people dun play with the phone while charging the phone, it will cause the battery to have shorter life
I found that non removeable battery will not heat up that fast with this Note 5 - I tried to play games on my phone for an hours, yet to feel heat on the hand. I believe the battery life will for sure more than 1 year la! n I beleive non-removable battery will have long life compare to removable
AnonD-431572, 08 Sep 2015"Guys" is not only me. Didn't you hear the news, samsung profit drop since S6. the t... moreHm.. I tot the same Samsung Note 5 will not get much customer but too bad it totally surprise me when I attended the event - the demand is even more than Samsung Supply - so many queue for the phone. :P
Well, such changes -without SD card and battery - I believe it is the trend that coming up for new phone - it apply to new the iphone, sony z5 etc
Would like to share my opinion after using this phone for few days..
I am consider as quiet a heavy user. My daily usage on the phone is more than 5 hours/day...I use my handphone is more than my Laptop that why I choose Note 5 as my choice of phone. Shares, games, email, social media activity -FB, Tweet, Watapps, wechat etc, news feed is my major activity with my phone. without the phone I am easily dying..
1) Battery life overall is reasonable. With all my heavy usage as per mentioned it can last for one full day (at least for now I still can share my opinion with gsmarena.)
2) N5 Performance was fluid and responsive. I dun have much complain
3) Performance satisfied compared to previous Note 3 (Of course for sure). The main issued is N5 doesnt heat up that fast. I play for COC for an hour found that there is not much heat is felt on my palm.
overall I give 4 star out of 5.
Why only 4- SD card lol.. now thinking to look for OTG card already and see how
AnonD-431572, 09 Sep 2015Internal battery, how long it will last? before reach it's degradation.
Note 5 after 1 year... moreNot really exactly 1 year. About 300 to 500 charge cycles. If you fully discharge & recharge twice daily, you are guaranteed efficiency of about 5 to 8 months. That's why I cycle 3 batteries, guaranteeing me up to two years of power efficiency.
It really depends on your usage too, and avoidance of heating (or extreme cold) - mostly heat reduces the ability of the chemical composition of the battery to hold better charges or longer power discharge.
Then also, the Depth of Discharge (DOD) should not be so much so your charging cycles can increase, even up to 10 times more if you charge after 10% to 30% of battery discharge. The best advice is to keep your charge between 40% to 80% - avoiding deep discharged or overcharging, keeping your battery highly optimised.
Fast charging and any wireless (normal or fast) puts more stress and heat to the battery, and normal charging time should be practiced.
Of course with the sealed battery, maintenance like I mentioned would be more difficult. With a removable battery system, you can even inspect for battery defects by simply looking if it's starting to bulge. This is to avoid instability and avoidance of it exploding. I can't stress this enough - a concern of high heat fire in your pants.
Everyone should read battery university dot com. I'm not making this stuff up.
What a POS!!!! 4 days old and the battery will not last more than half a day, I get constant "Reset Errors", half of the apps have been modified and any usefulness taken away. I would gladly give T-Mobile this piece of crap back in trade for my Note4 that worked just fine....
Internal battery, how long it will last? before reach it's degradation.
Note 5 after 1 year = battery problem.
Note 4 after 3 years = still the same (4 battery and can do swap, easy 100%)
Anonymous, 08 Sep 2015Who inserts the s-pen backwards and calls it an issue with the device? That's just stupid. Peo... morehear me !!! no one want to put spen backward !!
not you, but someone else will put it backward !!
we want a safety.
at least, don't make it can be inserted backward.
still want to defend yourself? :)
Samsung has really gone down with this device. no SD card available, non removable battery. Really need to return there head back in the game
Anonymous, 08 Sep 2015Who inserts the s-pen backwards and calls it an issue with the device? That's just stupid. Peo... moreIt's a design flaw. It should not happen at all. It's an outrage! A good design should be child-proof, prank-proof, idiot-proof, and stupid-proof.
This is a big deal for me. I don't want someone else trying to put the pen back the wrong way because of some news or plain no knowledge of this.
AnonD-237139, 08 Sep 2015This is terrible, the phone is only six months old, and the battery is dead. See; https://ww... moreHey man are you kidding me? ? This phone released about less than a month and you are saying that the phone has 6 month old. Funny joke
Who inserts the s-pen backwards and calls it an issue with the device? That's just stupid. People just want a reason to complain.
Samsung is now chasing shadows. Leaving it selling point behind i.e extended card, removable batteries etc. Retrogression begins for samsung......
This is terrible, the phone is only six months old, and the battery is dead.
Non-removable battery is big problem for customers, because average battery lifetime
on smartphones is 1 year and after that smart phone go to wastes !!!
Costomers are forced to buy a new phone every year of 1000 euros !!!
Also phones without memory card is a big problem,
Note 4 support memory card up to 128GB !!!
NOTE 4 is last hi-end smart phone with removable battery,
and it will remain forever the best option for me.
I never buy smartphone with Non-removable battery !!!
Samsung fanboy, 08 Sep 2015Samsung will still rule the market with less features. Our market is huge boys. Losing few peo... moreHmm, it seem there is people that didn't value it's customer. :)
Then, there will be no problem. I hope samsung business is going well, very very well with abandon it's few customers. :)
Samsung will still rule the market with less features. Our market is huge boys. Losing few people like u guys won't make any slight different. So if you like just buy. Don't u know that we dominates android market. We will be like apple where we just sell like hot cakes with high price n people will buy
AnonD-438351, 08 Sep 2015I believe it is trend.. non-removable battery, No SD card, Metal Glass etc.. all this are new ... moreNo, I won't buy it, manufacturer can't force it's customer. It's not about trend, it's about features. There is "Shadow Move" between manufacturer. Now, many device didn't have Micro SD and Removable Battery. I don't know what exact reason but it seem they want to make more profit with removing it's feature. No Micro SD = Use Cloud => Pay for Cloud Storage. No Removable Battery = Battery Problem => Pay with Higher Price than buy removable battery. More Battery is better to out from Battery Degradation Problem and out from service time (2 weeks or more).
AnonD-438351, 08 Sep 2015it is personal preference la! Bro.
no need SD card - replaced with Cloud Storage 100GB alrea... moreNo need for Micro SD? LOL.
Note 5 Users = 32GB+100GB (Internal + Cloud) Storage.
Note 4 Users = 32GB+128GB+100GB (Internal + External + Cloud) Storage.
Still want to count?? :)
You want to use OTG USB Storage? Note 4 can OTG USB Storage too. LOL
Never use IR Blaster? Try use it once, you will like it. :) (If you have IR Blaster on you device).
Like I said, Nope 5 is Powerful and Beautiful. But, many complex problem like battery degradation, spen backward, easily broken when drop, no micro sd, no IR blaster.
This is fight between old and new, between features and performance.
Who will win? of course features.
AnonD-438351, 08 Sep 2015it is personal preference la! Bro.
no need SD card - replaced with Cloud Storage 100GB alrea... more100GB of cloud storage with a slow internet connection is utterly useless with waste of time downloading, more data usage. Having a 128GB micro SD card can give you 119GB with of extra storage, instantly accessing whatever you need.
I should know - I have 200GB of OneDrive for two years. And I have more sense not trying to watching my HD movies through streaming. Cloud is great for upload backups.
