[deleted post]ParagB, i remember you trolling the Note 4 section a lot but you then became a Samsung fan... what happened?
Anonymous, 21 Aug 2015The beauty of SD cards is that they offer large amounts of storage for a low cost (getting 128... moreIf Samsung just removed the SD slot because of licensing issues they would have removed the ability to read flash drives too but you can still read FAT formatted memory over OTG so that's really not an excuse.
The real reason is Samsung has been losing profits the last few years so they're copying off of Apple by Making more profits from expensive internal memory knowing people are forced to buy new phones more often since they can't just stick an SD in when they're running short on memory, plus the non removable battery is part of that plan.
KinG, 20 Aug 2015Believe it or not, memory cards are now a thing of the past like floppy disks...but then 64 Gb... moreThe beauty of SD cards is that they offer large amounts of storage for a low cost (getting 128GB devices gets really expensive). Once you have a card you can simply use it on a new phone.
They are slower but most people only use it for storage of bulk data (offline maps, movies, songs pics etc).
I honestly think that the reason the card has been dropped is the $5-$15 licencing cost (per device) that Samsung is required to pay Microsoft.... in the long term the lost sales would have easily covered that cost.
To anyone who says we should all be on cloud services... that's fine when you have cheap unlimited mobile data and almost 100% mobile coverage, a lot of people don't have this.
Samsung needs to includes 128gb internal storage with sd cards option for photos, documents etc.
64gb is beyond a joke.
Even if Samsung offer 100gb online storage. We don't have unlimited data here in Australia. So uploading and downloading documents etc is an overkill.
I m user from note 1 .but note5 miss sd card so dont think to buy this.
What can u say about the keyboard cover? Yay or nay?
I remember my old phone Sony Ericsson P990i With the design.. after that I was a blackberry addict just bec. Of the keyboard. I was not a fan of full touch screen phone but I got used to it. Now, i think im gonna like the note5 regardless of the specs. And oh, I just wished that the phone's waterproof like some of the xperia z family..
In Every forum people are Not Happy with the Note 5 specifications,Removing so many things and downgrading features from previous versions.Samsung is not thinking about customer sentiments and like. They are only bother to force there crap phones on people.Apple is no more a match for samsung now ,Apple is loosing with every iphone release. I am waiting for some company Which can Beat Samsung in Future in Phone Manufacturing .
No card slot
No removable battery
No Ir for remote control
No Fm Radio
what is new to buy it? No more Samsung
KinG, 20 Aug 2015Believe it or not, memory cards are now a thing of the past like floppy disks...but then 64 Gb... moreYou're saying upgradable memory is a thing of the past?
I guess that means when your computer runs out of memory you just shrug you shoulders and go "Meh... Hard drives are a thing of the past"
Just try to comprehend that smartphones have now replaced most of what people once needed computers for and for a huge portion of the world they don't have a computer at all as there's not much need now.
Anonymous, 20 Aug 2015I will stick to my note 3. Used to like my note 2 cos it had Fm Radio that records programmes ... morewell said. i agree with you in totality. same here. sticking to my note 3. just got a new battery for note 3
I was waiting for Note 5 eagerly. Am still on note 3 and i think will continue with that. Really cannot understand why they cannot put a larger battery. 1 mm increase in thickness will not do any harm, but just imagine with such big size of phone and non-removal battery, manufacturers should use the space and design a much higher capacity of battery. If it was 4000 mah battery on note 5 / S6 Edge +, i would have bought one today. Now i have just bought a new battery for my old note 3.
Believe it or not, memory cards are now a thing of the past like floppy disks...but then 64 Gb should be the minimum on a flagship, with availability of 128 Gb for power users.
Samsung is at the moment manufacturing cheap 128 Gb memory chips for low and midrange phones.
"We expect to see that mid-to-low-end smartphones will increasingly adopt 128GB of memory storage in the near future," a Samsung spokesman said via email.
My S6 Edge 64 Gb has no memory card and i don't miss it. Card was slow and unreIiable, being easily corrupted or unreadable for unknown reasons...
Anonymous, 20 Aug 2015yes these know all tech geeksIt's just the sheep that act like experts who just accept whatever phone they're given and try to justify why features are taken away.
AnonD-183089, 20 Aug 2015Go for note 4 its the best nowagreed note 4 for the best now
note 4, 20 Aug 2015Hahaha now some one will say ohh infrared is an old fashion like fm radio and sd cardyes these know all tech geeks
I will stick to my note 3. Used to like my note 2 cos it had Fm Radio that records programmes on radio, but the new notes 3 to 5 no radio. It almost the same functions just difference of speed, interface and camera pixels, the other notes has sharp camera pixels as well. Until they come back with the Fm radio will always use my note 3 or get LG G4 . Super fone .
