KinG, 20 Aug 2015Believe it or not, memory cards are now a thing of the past like floppy disks...but then 64 Gb... moreYou're just blowing hot air without a clue of reality:

Micro SD cards will be a thing of the past when you don't find entire walls of Micro SD cards in stores anymore.

Removable storage of all kinds has been pronounced dead more times than I can count, with dilettante pundits ignoring that the need for archiving of data never does go away.

Now there are people who prefer to outsource their transportation, traveling by taxi, bus, train or plane only. Then there are those who prefer to have their own car.

Same goes for data archiving. The more knowledgeable people are, the more likely they will only use online storage as one of their back-ups, keeping at least two more, one in their bank deposit box and one at their house.

And they're not going to buy another phone for each backup :p

Say no to slots, 21 Aug 2015Sd slots are for noobs. No use other then media. It can't even install Apps unless you root.. ... moreQuite the opposite.

With internal storage, you have the following problems:

        - Limited by what the manufacturer thinks *most* people would be willing to pay for.
        - a lot of writing media degrades the memory, better to have a card fail than your built in memory, which will require a very expensive board replacement.
        - You can't take out internal memory and stick it into a slot at a print shop.
        - If you have trouble connecting your phone to the computer (happens to a lot of people), you can just use the Micro SD card to move your data. That can alone can save your day on occasion.
        - While traveling, you can carry multiple Micro SD cards for different purposes.
        - If you shoot lots of video, there's no other way than multiple micro SD cards to hold all the footage until we get Terabyte level storage in our phones..
        - if a Micro SD card goes bad, it doesn't affect your ability to use your phone, you just pull it out.

How can Samsung have so little clue about Note users...

No Micro SD card severely limits its usefulness.

I carry 40 GB of books, 20GB of music, a good bunch of videos and I generate architectural plans on it. Even if the phone had a terabyte of storage, I'd need those plans on a Micro SD card, so I can stick that into a slot at a print shop to get plans printed or photos developed.

Somehow, Samsung seems to believe all that people do on smart phones is manage a calendar and some scribbled napkin notes.

AnonD-77443, 21 Aug 2015Duh... Your agreeing with me... I said SD Cards for data storage.... And you obviously miss... moreDamn that SLOT.

ITs because of that slot, Samsung have being releasing silly 16GB / 32GB phones for YEARS.. Thinking that "Oh.. its ok. theres the slot to save our ass".

And its because of that SLOT, they give an excuse ... oh oh.. build 64GB internal with sd slots no use.. as no demand.

I SAY NO to slots. Let us have massive internal storage instead.

Why not stick in 2x128gb cards i.e. a 256gb model the cards are cheap enough. These iPhone type storages where they charge huge amounts for upgrade in storage should be made illegal.

This phone is missing its 128GB version.. or at least in my country.. thats the only downfall.

WE NEED MORE Internal storage. NOT silly slots. Especially when our media collection has already exceed 2TB. To have random access to more then 2TB media.. whats a 128gb slot? SO SMALL... then the tons of issue of dupes.. sync.. copy .. delete .. i do not want to deal with that!

Just leave your media at home / NAS.. and do Port forwarding.. and have your media everywhere you go.. regardless of devices. And have the phone's internal storage solely for Apps!

The real reason is Samsung has been losing profits the last few years so they're copying off of Apple by Making more profits from expensive internal memory knowing people are forced to buy new phones more often since they can't just stick an SD in when they're running short on memory, plus the non removable battery is part of that plan.

Once you have a card you can simply use it on a new phone.

They are slower but most people only use it for storage of bulk data (offline maps, movies, songs pics etc).

I honestly think that the reason the card has been dropped is the $5-$15 licencing cost (per device) that Samsung is required to pay Microsoft.... in the long term the lost sales would have easily covered that cost.

To anyone who says we should all be on cloud services... that's fine when you have cheap unlimited mobile data and almost 100% mobile coverage, a lot of people don't have this.

Samsung needs to includes 128gb internal storage with sd cards option for photos, documents etc.
                              64gb is beyond a joke.

Even if Samsung offer 100gb online storage. We don't have unlimited data here in Australia. So uploading and downloading documents etc is an overkill.

What can u say about the keyboard cover? Yay or nay?

I remember my old phone Sony Ericsson P990i With the design.. after that I was a blackberry addict just bec. Of the keyboard. I was not a fan of full touch screen phone but I got used to it. Now, i think im gonna like the note5 regardless of the specs. And oh, I just wished that the phone's waterproof like some of the xperia z family..
