TheNeighbor, 16 Aug 2015Silly comment. I consume 80 to more than 150GB of data monthly. It means I can consume 2 to 5 ... moreBeing a heavy user I agree with the need to be able to change the battery but Samsung have changed from Li-ion to Li-po so it won't degrade and lose capacity as fast since usually after a year my batteries lose at least 15% while with Li-po assuming no faults the same usage is expected to half that capacity loss.

But I'm certainly not defending that since 10% after 1 year can mean a few hours less charge and that obviously gets worse after 2 years meaning you're forced to charge more often, and of course quick charge massively reduces the life of batteries too.

Do you know what's even sexier than carrying a power bank? Charging your battery inside your bag while your slim and sexy phone is light and unplugged.

AnonD-22824, 15 Aug 2015Note5 is just a superslim, supersexy and most powerfull smartphone till date..there is just no... moreNice. You really need a good rubberband to strap with that powerbank for easy carry. Might as well, since you'll be needing it with that high quality power bank with your "superslim, supersexy and most powerfull smartphone till date". It will also where you can strap in your OTG dongle. Real classy, man.

[deleted post]Silly comment. I consume 80 to more than 150GB of data monthly. It means I can consume 2 to 5 GB of data downloads daily. I'm not your average user. I would however dislike carrying around a powerbank connected to my Galaxy Note all the time. Here's some satistics of my consumption:
            http://flic.kr/p/ni3bKW
            http://flic.kr/p/xo19Hy

If I do not download such volume, my (new) battery can average some 8 hours of screen on use. Yeah, so much for your theory that I don't use it so much. Here's an example of when I use my Note 3 (let me emphasize that) when I do so browsing research on wifi - from over 9 hours of on time, I managed to get 8 HOURS of SCREEN time:
            http://flic.kr/p/x7jebt
            http://flic.kr/p/wrNcaY

I do not need to worry about battery since I just swap it over with a new one, while the spent one can be charged at home while I sleep. I can even charge it with a power bank, while I use my Note 3 to continue a WIRELESS and power bank free use to remain slim and light.

Samsung taking out the swappable battery would be such a big problem for me. Batteries really degrade over time. With the same battery used from the screen shots above that gave me 8 hours of screen usage can now last only 4 +hours after 13 months difference - and this is cycling with other batteries. Does everyone see this as a problem for a sealed battery? It's the same battery make and will surely be a BIG problem for heavy usage. No, a power bank does NOT solve the problem of degredation of the battery. In fact, you'll be fored to plug in more the time that is short of strapping in that power bank onto your NotePOINTfive. Here's a picture of that:
            http://flic.kr/p/wkD2Qj

Carrying a power bank everywhere isn't cool to go along with a thin smartphone. It's so contradicting.

So, boo, Samsung. Boo for making your devices with sealed batteries. Boo for just following the rest of the ordinary mass like HTC, Sony and Apple. Boo for giving us no memory expansion. Boo for making us carry power banks like the rest. Boo for not leading the way to awesome devices this year. Boo for giving less substance and more bling this year.

I have used the Note3 and Note4.. all I can say is that I am very happy with its performance. I am still using my Note4 because I truly love it esp expanding and switching cards from time to time... I wont deny the fact that I love looks of Note5, but thats just it. Since they have removed the memory card slot and removable battery, that makes me to not love it. Very bad move from samsung! Plus the fact that the battery was reduced?.. oh a very very very big stupidity. Note4 drains fast, how much more, how much more the Note5..

just use OTG usb sticks for additional external storage .

low battery capacity is not a big deal because of 14nm chipset.

Use a good quality Powerbank thats it.

Samsung will lose a good part of the market share for this failure. Especially the Note 5 is a step back, and this mistake will cost a lot of.

Sorry but Samsung made a step back...
Despite my disappointment I would like to know if this new Note 5 has a better sampling times than the shameful low 5Hz? Unfortunately Samsung let down the sampling time to low at the last Note gadgets.

The iPhone has never had an Sd Card nor removable battery but its selling. What we have to realise is that there are lots and lots of fake SD Card on the market which affects the phones performance and functionality but customers unknowingly would end blaming Samsung for manufacturing inferior products. The Galaxy S6 and Note 5 phones faster and also more powerful than the SD Cards currently on the market.

The Note 5 is a complete joke. It has a smaller, non-removable battery and offers little more in real performance terms that the Note 3, let alone the Note 4. The Note 2, 3 and 4 all had bigger batteries.

Best of all, of course, none of the Note 3 or Note 4 accessories will work with the Note 5. Then to cap it all it won't be available in Europe this year. Then add in that anyone in Europe who is coming up for their 2nd anniversary of getting the Note 3 on a two year contract, will have no upgrade path within the Note range other than the Note 4 and that is a questionable upgrade, especially after it being out for almost a year.

Let's not also forget there is also a question mark over whether there will even be a 128 GB version too. Then add in that Samsung's track record for updates is attrocious, why would anyone in their right mind go with Samsung any more?! It wouldn't be so bad if at least there was an S6 plus but no only the S6 Edge+. All in all the whole scenario is a joke! Samsung is now standing in a mess entirely of its own making.
