Why would anybody want the single SIM model over the dual-SIM one, since the second slot can be optionally used for microSD? And even more: why is the single-SIM variant more expensive than the dual-SIM one?!

Thats what I use for my Note 5 and it charges less than an hour. I'm not even sure it's up to 50 minutes.
Stop posting against what you don't have or have not experienced. It makes you a nuisance.

- case in point - this guy " Technicalities" did a review of the Microsoft Surface Book and rated it "Mistake" after a few weeks the same guy gets on camera and calls the same model (i5 to i7) his "Only Trusted" and "Ultimate" laptop.
Lots of viewers noticed it and he didn't even mind.
So my point is you never know their angle in their review. That's why I prefer regular users posting videos of their real life experiences or confirmed owners reviews on Amazon or here on gsmarena. Easier for me that way.

Battery stamina is the number one thing I look into, especially now everyone seems to be ok with sealed batteries. No one appreciates having to charge more often than the overnight daily charging.

If you have an s8+ or a note 7 fe, then you are not the priority. It's not all about you.

I'm not American and don't live in the states. Samsung is aware of consequences of not having it on the shelves before iPhone 8 and Mi Mix 2 is announced, so they are trying to get it in consumers' hands on time.
I'm not sure about the UK but some countries are getting it already.
Reviewers in YouTube say battery SoT is 3 hours with highest resolution.
Is that real?
Tech.Chief, 05 Sep 2017Galaxy Note 8 has started shipping in the US. Smart move Samsung!is the note 8 going to be released to all those whop pre ordered this stunning peice of kit going to receive it early like all you luky americans gelous to say the least

I don't care what you folks say, this newest Note DO... moreU are literally comparing a 2000 Honda Civic Vspec (ASUS ZENFONE AR) to a Aston Martin Vantage (GALAXY NOTE 8). What shit are u even talking...no one gives a damn about ASUS in the mobile division. I rather tell them to give up on the mobile division and focus on their gaming desktop/laptop lineup which is better for them
Well, the other tech site has detailed reviews of the Note8. The battery of the Note8 lasted 7:50 hours, S8+ at 8 hours, while last year's Note7 at 9:49. Unlike someone testing battery performance between a brand-new and 6 month old is flawed as the 6-month device's battery is already well degraded.
The bigger screen with a smaller battery makes a difference. Doing the math, that's 2 hours, or 20% LESS from the Note7. 10 minutes difference from the S8+ is understandable.
Seeing all these results, with probably the same battery sequence testing, basing on my experience and the way I used the Note7, the Note8 would give me only a maximum 9.5 hours of upkeep. Note7 for me (the way I used it) was maximum 12 hours upkeep on a full charge, with some 5-6 hours Screen On Time. I have to charge late afternoon everyday to be able to last till night.
20% less battery stamina is not looking so good. I'm waiting for GSM Arena's battery testing, and if the Note8 is confirmed with 20% less battery stamina, then what's the point of getting it?
Fingerprint magnetism is an issue with lazy unresourceful millennial bums. Recommendation: simply get a piece of suitable microfiber cloth and wipe the tiny surface clean. The real issue is whether they can afford the beautiful phone or not. And, there is another issue with the finger button being laborious to hit, yet the real issue is whether they can reach the money from their pocket to buy a new beautiful phone.
Anonymous, 05 Sep 2017Got got it
https://youtu.be/3e3F9d6aWncAwesome! Looked quite huge in your hand. Solid phone. Looked way different from the curvy S8 plus.

Also happy it's wider in hand than the Note 7. Looking good so far. Can't wait to get one!

Personally I don't like that so that is a bonus. The form factor with the tall screen just looks a bit strange, I had the feeling I was holding a remote controller or anything like that. It's slighty wider than my Note FE and about 1cm taller. The fact that it's so tall and for it's size narrow is something that is going to be a thing to get used to. It's the opposite of the Galaxy Mega 6.3 which is very wide and even taller, but the Note8 feels much smaller but a bit too tall somehow. The new aspect ratio 18,5:9 is something to get used to.
