Ask, 16 Nov 2017Note 8 or iPhone x
If you are looking for a feature rich device, Note is the better option. If you are okay with the isolated Apple software, you can go with iPhone X. Note is better in RAM management as seen in comparison videos. Camera is equally good on both these phones, rumors suggest Note 8 will also get 4K 60 FPS video recording in a future update. But I will give a slight advantage to the iPhoneX, just a minor win.
Display is also really good on both these phones, with Note 8 you get a huge tall display which looks really amazing, you will have to embrace the notch on the iPhone X though. Battery is better on Note 8 when compared to iPhone X.
Now if you want the additional features for the money (Note8)
You get the an headphone jack with an AKG branded headphone which sound incredible because I own them. No headphone jack on iPhone X.
You get a better IP rating that is, IP68 which is higher than iPhone X (IP67)
You will get a microSD card slot in Note 8.
You will get a stylus which will unlock tons of features itself.
You have a fingerprint scanner + Iris scanner + Face Scanner whereas you get only FaceID in Apple.
I hope that helped.

Imperator Neubaticus, 15 Nov 2017Lol phones weren't made to remotely control your other devices. That's just not what a phone i... moreI DISAGREE!
Smart phones SHOULD be controlling everything.
Should replace wallets, keys, remotes, buttons of all sorts etc.
I am sure there is like a usb WIFI stick somewhere you can connect to your tv and use with the smart phone.
That would be even better, you won't need to point the remote to the tv...
YasirJashami, 15 Nov 2017What's up, is it real that memory option is 64gb only??? Isn't there 128 or 256gb???There is no more 128gb or 256gb Note8 , so we have only 64gb option . Im also want to buy Note8 256gb but i have now 64gb model .
GN8, not bad actually! GN8 is good phone until you didn't use it yet! Price tag should be drop to $201, that's nice price I've ever seen xD

Braveheart67, 15 Nov 2017Forget ir blaster port cos some app does work with tv without using ir blaster tryy download ... moreYes, I've been using wifi remote controlling for smart tv, and I use Chromecast that I just control and Miracast connect with my smartphone. Our classrooms have been all upgraded with 65" smart TVs which I wifi control. We replaced all our overhead protectors and their bulbs don't last long.
Forget ir blaster port cos some app does work with tv without using ir blaster tryy download Samsung remote control I have one that work great with my 48" and 22" Samsung smart tv that work like champ
"The only reason why it doesn't have a ir blaster is because there is really no need. Now that tvs are becoming smarter"
My phone has an IR blaster, but I only used it once, to show friends and family.
I try to to use it again, when I could not find a remote in a friends house, even though it took forever to set it up.
I still prefer to use the actual remote, because I can change the channel and control volume, because it has physical button. I can do it by 'feel' without looking at it. With a smartphone, you have to look at the screen, to find out where you button is.....
Sim Free, unlocked International version available in USA 780$, HatsOff to iPhone selling @1500$ in short supply. N8 was 1045$ starting!
[deleted post]Then stick with it. No one's forcing you to bare your financial insecurities and intellectualization to justify the consequences of such insecurities online.
Lol phones weren't made to remotely control your other devices. That's just not what a phone is for. If as you said there are cheaper phones with ir blasters, then by all means, go buy those cheaper phones precisely for your remote controlling needs and then be done with it.
All I can say now is the Note8 is a very excellent drawing tablet, especially with the recent update of Autodesk Sketchbook Pro that lets me create resolutions of 10,000 x 10,000 pixels. I don't have to carry a big tablet.
Tilt input has been added too.
After over a month of using the Note8, i realize that fingerprint placement was designed for holding your phone more stably.
You take it from the pocket, forefinger goes to the scanner naturally. Quickly opens. I open my Note8 80% with this method, even with SmartLock enabled (keeps the unit unlocked when connected to a trusted Bluetooth device and pressing the home button to open).

Reviewers have found the OIS not to be so good on budget phone and had no OIS for 4k recording! Who wants that?!
