On wifi the battery life is amazing now and at the time of writing this comment i am on 60% battery life with 3hrs (2hrs 59min and some seconds to be accurate) of SOT already. But lets see what happens on 4g because i feel that battery is draining faster on 4G but will test it for some more time and hopefully post that too.
What i have experienced with my hit and trials, like before i discovered regarding battery reset procedure to improve battery life, that once u r updating to a newer patch DON'T PERFORM CACHE WIPE before updating. Instead if u r so curious to perform cache wipe and u r firm believer that it improves somewhat performance then do it after a day or so of updating to latest patch. In my experience wiping cache just after resetting of phone after update makes battery to behave abnormally.

Of course mine is secondhand so I could have expected it to be worn and torn but the device looks fine just a couple minor scuffs on the side and bottom and the tip of the pen seemed fine too but now I see how a new one looks and compare it to my s-pen it looks old, so I think he can give me one of the tips and change it. The stylus isnt neccesary to operate the phone but it's a nice addition and handy.

I have never changed the tip in last 1yr and 5months (i think mainly because of rare usage of s-pen). And i remember there are a number of replacement tips in the box.
My Note8 is very good, but I see I have a small issue, it's the s-pen tip. The pen doesn't react on everything anymore and when I use the s-pen of my friends Note, it works all fine so it's the stylus itself that gives the problem. I bought the phone secondhand and there were no s-pen tips included nor was the tool to use for changing the tips. Can I purchase these online and will they be OEM? I do not want to use some crappy fake Chinese s-pen tips which might scratch the screen.
Umair, 07 May 2020Please let me know how is battery life now? Should I go ahead with April patch? The battery life is slightly better after I performed a battery reset last week but don't expect wonders. I am not sure if you can skip the April patch and just wait for the May patch or that you first have to install April in order to be able to get the May patch. In the first case, I would wait for the May patch.

It seems that after the battery reset it improved again, now it has about 4,5 hours SOT and it's on 27%.
DBM, 05 May 2020After April security update my screen on time is 6 to 7 hour.
People saying SOT reduced after April update and you saying its 6-7 hrs which is i think ever best for Note 8?!!!
I'm not updating only because of many bad feedbacks pertaining to April patch!
