Fast charging decreases the battery's efficiency over time. That's what i learned the first time i experienced the feature when i got my note4. So use it sparingly, only when the situation requires it. Otherwise, stick to standard charging. It'll keep your battery alive longer.
I buy N8 yesterday. Phone have light on edge screen and AL body. When i increase brightness it's worse. Very poor factory final product. Before i used S7 edge. Dust on edge's. Next time i don't buy Samsung..

No fast charging.
However, looking at my battery history, when I drained 98% usage had 2680 mAh as indicated; meaning only 2735 mAh if 100%. Note8 has 3300 mAh battery. Meaning the efficiency is only 82.87%. I lost 17.13% battery efficiency in 4 months!
I plan to do another test to confirm this, or the app is not calibrated properly. Still, I can get a 5-hour SOT over a period of 14:45 hours on LTE till the battery totally drains. This is with BT always connected, notifications on, no games, and consuming some 1GB of data.

In the 18 months I owned it I changed the battery 3 times. My note 8 is about 4 months old and I can already tell the capacity has reduced. In another 6 months I may enquire about getting a new battery fitted. In the meantime I'm going to start non-fast charging to try and keep it healthy.
after one month using note 8,i decided to sell my phone, because i am disappointed with the camera result and performance. i compare my note 8 to my friend phone(XZ Premium) and it was embarrassed cuz, my note 8 performance is not better compare to my friend xz premium. Luckily.. now... i just bought my new champion XZ Premium and i am happy with that

Overall iPhone X and note 8 are excellent phones to be honest.
Samsung please update note 8 to 8.1 not 8.0 same as S8 and S8 plus since the note 8 comes out of the box with 7.1.1.
This is a true review to all:
I purchased note 8 rather than the Iphone X because:
1. Worth the money with a very good specs and speed.
2. Camera graphics is a plus.
3. With 3.5mm headjack
4. Expandable with micro sd slot up to 256gb which you can save a lot easier.
5. Wider screen for those video clips and game addictive.
So if you would compare this to iphone X. Go for this phone!
And that's a guarantee.
Used z5 premium, iphone X, oppo F5, huawei mate 10 pro and bunch of phones this few years. Now with note 8 in my hand, i confidently say that by far, this is the best phone i have ever used. Fantastic screen, useful pen, useful apps (built in), snappy performance, smooth gameplay, no lags at all even compared to the newer mate 10 pro (mate 10 pro lags), battery life is as good as mate 10 pro when i turn the resolution all the way down (there is not much difference in picture quality even when i turn it down). The best would be, there is absolutely no heat when i play my favourite games, where every other phone will heat up like hell and lags. Definitely worth the price, i give it a 10/10
I've had this phone for a month. Great phone, screen is unbelievable and s pen is fantastic, great camera, super quick. Battery life is good for me, I get 6+ hours of screen on time. I don't play heavy graphic games.
I love it. I bought it for it's huge, vivid display and it hasn't disappointed me. People pick on Samsung and say its phones lag, for me this isn't true. I'm a casual user, I only installed a few necessary apps and let me tell you, it runs flawlessly. The only thing I wish this phone had is a longer metal S pen, slightly better buttons and a better coating. It's a fingerprint magnet which is why I use the plastic case that comes in the box. Other than that it's an absolute monster. I recommend you hold off until the S9 gets released, and if it isn't that much better go for the Note8.
