TCool, 05 Oct 2017Face unlock is the most secure of all!Yes, you keep using it. It's very safe.
Imperator Neubaticus, 05 Oct 20175 hours sounds about right. 5 hours is fair enough because you will not use your phone for 5 hours continuously.
All in all it will survive the 12 hours before charging it again.
Charging it when not using will add more duration for the rest of the day.
Don't wait for the battery to get 20% before charging. You can charge it anytime.
TCool, 05 Oct 2017You should try the face recognition unlock. Maybe you will not go back to iris scanner after ... moreTried it. It works well too i guess. The iris scanner works faster though. Ill use the face recognition system more throughout the next few days to compare it with the iris scanner on different scenarios.

The.Neighbor, 05 Oct 2017Face unlock is not secure.Who told you?
The.Neighbor, 05 Oct 2017Yes, when the AOD is turned off. Would you say 5 hours of SOT?5 hours sounds about right.
Hi i m from India, i bought note 8 yesterday..this device is super mobile ... battery was good .. only camera quick launch is not available for my country...which is depend on region depending..over all full marks to samsung. And Thank you gsmarena for your detailed review.

Maybe you will not go back to iris scanner after that. LOL!
Oh and i almost forgot. The iris scanner is perhaps the best thing about this phone second to the s pen. It unlocks the phone so quickly it's amazing! I can't go back to the fingerprint scanner now.
After a week using this phone, i can conclude that the battery life is more than good enough to last 24 hours on average/moderate use. This is provided that the aod is turned off and the brightness set at 35-40%. I use QHD because FHD just doesn't sit well with me. I use the phone to send messages, make phone calls, browse the net, watch youtube videos, play graphics intensive games like megapolis, real racing 3, and sky force reloaded. I do admit that with the same usage, i got better hours with the ill fated note7.
Battery life aside, this thing is amazing! Smoothest samsung phone i've ever used. Everything is snappy and multitasking is a breeze. I feel like this phone is an iphone with how the interface is buttery smooth.
Camera is incredible. Nuff said. The bokeh effect could use a bit more work to make the blurs more seamless but otherwise, taking stills is excellent. Front cam video recording is great, but with slight focus inconsistencies. Low light snaps are likewise great.
S pen is just as useful as ever but i find myself using it less than i did with the note7. But thats probably because the ui is much more refined now.
The display is the most beautiful ever on a smartphone. Love the look of the note8 overall. Although some prefer the s8+ design, i don't.
And i must say, the akg s30 bluetooth speaker that came bundled with the preordered unit is bose level. It's that good.

I never use charging cable.
I never use battery case.
I can survive the day with 80% remaining on my phone battery at the end of the day.
The.Neighbor, 04 Oct 2017Do tell us about your use of the Note8 with NO case.
It's interesting that people go around u... moreYeah my phone case is thinner and lighter than your thick and heavyweight Zerolemon battery case. And mind you, it has front clear cover that protects the screen.
Your Zerolemon only cover the back, and it is already heavy.
Battery case will generates more heat on the phone.
Tech.Chief, 04 Oct 2017Glad to hear! Thanks for the clarification on battery life.No one appreciates having to charge during your waking hours, including myself. It's a reality that with a regular 3300 mAh, you can't get a heavy use without topping up before the evening.
5 hours SOT is what you get. 6 hours if you're really pushing it. But this is the real use of the Note8. I'd like it to go 8 hours SOT over two days but that's not easy to achieve without deep draining the battery to zero, and with everything set to minimal.
