I agree the fingerprint reader position is not intuitive, but it works for me every time, as does face unlock. But where I disagree is build quality, to me it is excellent. Yes, glass so fragile (cased mine) but it is little different from an iPhone and judging by the number of cracked screen iPhones I see, Apple are milking students by using inferior glass. I dropped my Note5 four times (new jogging trousers, forgot pack of zipped pocket!) and screen survived the shock. I assume the 8 is even tougher.

Mate 10 has the most user friendly fingerprint scanner to date.
Not Note8, not iPhoneX.
Anonymous, 09 Nov 2017Does note 8 is a waterproof?nope. only water resistant.
[deleted post]The Note8 is the only one with a Wacom active digitizer pen with pressure and tilt inputs. A huge feature differentiator compared to the rest.
The tilt input of the S Pen is new and it's usually app specific like for drawing apps. You can do thin and thick pencil lines with pressure input, then if you tilt the S Pen to get pencil shading done. I'm rejoicing as visual illustrator with the Note8.
Anything else is a normal phone.
I decided to buy Note 8 instead of Mate 10 Pro and bought it 3 days ago. Probably this phone is better than Mate 10 Pro but that's not mean Huawei's phone is bad. I chose Note 8 because of it's ultra high quality display, Bluetooth 5.0, IP68 and wireless charger present. For now I'm happy with my choice but the fact that, Note 8 is far from perfection due to it's "almost" useless fingerprint, mono speaker, battery capacity and lack of Apple's build quality. With it's S-Pen capabilities, this phone would be my favorite in the near future.

Not Bad but Note 8 The best
Robbie, 07 Nov 2017Honestly, the speaker is really poor. Probably the worst part of the phone Plain bullshit.
I am comfortable with the finger sensor. Works perfect with my left hand finger.
Imperator Neubaticus, 08 Nov 2017Lol nobody cares. This is what he post "...an under screen finger print reader, something both Apple and Samsung have been trying to perfect but failed so far hence not available in any phone to date."
Read the last part, something that Huawei Mate 10 has but he is only looking at Apple and Samsung.
I just want to prove it by pointing to reviews in YouTube.
Somebody tell me about battery life and Speaker Quality Finger Sensor
