But then again it is samsung - getting 1 update is rare let alone 2nd. The company it self has to be blamed as they are extremely focussed on new devices and do not think of the old ones. I have heard lollipop is in works but i dont think it will reach the users any time soon. I hope samsung atleast launches the next note 10.1 as this one will go obsolete soon even though it has a octacore processor.
Do not buy this device if you want access to systems that are beyond 4.4.2.
Samsung did not upgrade this device except for once in its 2-year lifetime. It's a decent tablet otherwise, but if you want to be supported by your manufacturer long after you purchase a device, do NOT look to Samsung. Buy a Google Nexus device. That's probably the type of my next purchase.
Anonymous, 31 Aug 2015Why haven't I received an update to kit kat? It will probably never never receive any software whatsoever. I own one since September 2014, and Samsung doesn't look like it will support any device other their current flagship models. My brother's Tab S is also stuck with KitKat, and has no Lollipop upgrade on the way.
my Note 10.1 2014 edition just could not come on after I had put off 2hrs later having used it for presentation. could some help me understand what could be the issue? I keep pressing the power on button but its refused to come on.
My action memo is not working since long time I am not sure if it stopped working after kit kat upgrade or some other reason. If anyone has faced this issue and got resolution please help.
oes anybody know if the Samsung Note 10.1, LTE has phone capabilitys with the sim card?
Does any one know if there is a replacement to the 10.1 note 2014 Coming this year?
Quite a few have reported this issue. Iam using a P600 for almost 2 years now and I haven't experienced any battery issues so far. Assuming nothing is wrong with the tablet, my guess would be irregular charging. batteries in general (including Lithium Ion) have a charge/discharge cycle which when broken too many times can cause inconsistency in the device's measurement of the battery capacity and % charge left.
Try the following to confirm this,
1. Use a heavy app like a game or something. If you notice the power percentage drop drastically, like 10% to 20% or more in an instant, then that pretty much means what i just said.
2. If you do detect a drastic drop in the battery %, note down the battery % then turn off your device, wait few seconds and then switch it back on. If you see a different battery % (higher most of the case), then that confirms what i just said.
The fix would be battery calibration and a device hard/soft reset, which is simple to do (google it).
Now, if this is not the case, then i'd recommend you get it checked and ignore the whole thing above :).
my note is working nicely without any lacs
but the only issue is its battery
it only last for 15 h wether i use it or not
i have hibirinate all the apps and never use internet
it drain even i put it in to off
what to do
this is still samsungs most powerful tablet, p605, never overheats during so much download, it takes anything you throw at it in a heartbeat..samsung still needs to optimize the touchwiz as sometimes the software can start fluctuating after days/weeks of never shutting down, which forces me to restart by holding the power button. dont have this problem on my g4
Anonymous, 04 Jan 2014no its battery is very good i'm from egypt and i have the SM-P601 3G . i had it from 3 weeks... moreIf im only watching videos or movies and internet the battery in mine lasts about 4 days which is good.

Anyways, i was merely pointing out the differences that i know of, between 2 samsung devices that kamalcharza was interested in. i dont see what obsession has to do with it. If you're trying mock me, kindly do it right :).
Oh and one more thing, you mentioned about your loyalty shifting everyday to every month or year. Only fanboys show loyalty towards a brand and irrelevant of the brand itself, a fanboy is a fanboy and you my friend is one. I truly doubt you'll be able to appreciate technology for what it truly is and not what its hyped up to be... Good day to you too!

Every body has his/her free opinion I can criticise and talk about my opinion, when I do so I am not pointing finger on Kartick or any other member here. I am not an apple fan nor Samsung fan. I switch my loyalty based on what is best in technology world today. It may be shifting everyday every week every month or year. In technology world nothing is permanent. I don't care if ipad is worst device or note is best. They both will soon be outdated and superseded by better devices tomorrow. Have a good day!
I bought this tablet last year. Before kitkat update it seem the battery drained quicker on jellybean. Now since updating to kitkat battery last longer. Everything else i love about this tablet. Looks like bigger note 3 lol. But its a beautiful tablet. Display is great. Nice and slim. But for the price i would have expected 32gb instead of just 16gb. Most of built in apps use up internal memory. Im left with 5.8gb which really is not enough. But apart from that its a nice tablet. Wish we get lollipop update for it.
kamalcharza, 03 Aug 2015I can't decide which one to choose.. Tab s 10.5 or note 10.1 2014 edition.
I seek function.. ... morehmmm.... not sure why its a tough call for you mate... but let me narrow it down a bit, if it helps...
1. Main difference here is the s pen in terms of functionally. Obviously i haven't used a tab s, so can only assume it has the standard extra features which comes with it like. like the lollipop update and the fingerprint sensor. thats all i was able to identify from the specs...
2. In terms of battery, i can guess that the rating are accurate since LCD consumes more power then AMOLED, in which case tab s will have better battery life.
everything else is the same mate, i mean specs wise its identical i guess. so if you desire functionally, i guess the note is a better choice. But you have to decide that, not me. i mean for some things like the weight of the device matters, but not for me. So try them both out at a store and see which suits you better....
