Guys plz help should I buy s1 or lg g2 or note 3 ?? I need a good camera and battery life plz help
TheNeighbor, 25 Apr 2014So, it's 4.4.2, and not 4.2.2? Oh, I guess the bugs have been squashed out then. I'm downloadi... moreOk but don't blame me later, all I know is Android 4.4.2 is smooth and flawless in my N9005.
I don't know with other units.
The weakest build part of the Note 3 is the plastic chrome painted sides. It chips off if you don't cover it up, as I have seen some of colleagues have with their Galaxies.
I like the leather-like back cover of the Note 3. That's why I really went looking for a black aluminum frame bumper which offers a minimal protection and easy removal. The first one I had had to be screwed in place, preventing me easy battery change when I need to.
Have a look:
Minimal, more or less not adding more than a millimeter in front to avoid the glass from touching the ground if you do drop it. I even used the separately sold S-Charger back cover for wireless charging so that it has a definite flat back to prevent it from wobbling.
If you look at the with and without cover comparisons, the black bumper make it look better.
The metal bumper cost less than $10. You should be able to look for one at eBay.
Ulhaqpak, 25 Apr 2014Go for 1520. I have used both these devices. On papers Android seems to be more practical but... morewindows phone doesn't have file manager and u can't share files easily.. so what's your ans for this??? and what's the use of instaling 22gb of apps when u cant use all of them. if have ans for my questions ans me
freddy, 25 Apr 2014note 3 is a class of its own...can,t be compared with lumnia 1520....That was my point. i would have gotten the Lumia 1520 if it had features I NEED. It's not a Galaxy Note 3.
I use full Windows 8.1 gaming laptop for all my 3D work, but Windows Phone is just isn't right yet for what I need.

Upgrading the Note 2 also with its version of 4.4.2. I'll have time to mess around by next week.
I guess I am one of the lucky owner of Note 3 N9005 which is completely compatible with Android 4.4.2 Kitkat. Lucky Me!
Ulhaqpak, 25 Apr 2014Go for 1520. I have used both these devices.
On papers Android seems to be more practical but... moreHere are some quotations about the 1520:
Does the 1520 have a Wacom digitizer pen?
Can you change to different skin launchers?
Can you miracast to TVs directly?
Can you remote control your TV or other appliances?
Can you change the battery to a fresh one?
Can you do Tasker sequences?
Can you do remote it with something like Autoremote?
Can you put it in normal pockets easily?
Can I use a remote phone dialer with it?
Can you do multi split screen with it?
Does it do hover preview?
Can it do DirectoryBind?
If your answers are a majority yes, especially with the first one, then I'm sold with the 1520.

On papers Android seems to be more practical but it isn't.
Lumia 1520 battery is 3 times more than Note 3.
Its camera is far superior.
Built Quality is better.
Display is the best ever on phone. Specially in sunlight.
Due to Windows its use is Simple and super Fast.
Upgradable to WP 8.1 which has Cortanna, enhaanced UI, Shortcut settings, Fastest keyboard.
Lumia doesn't get Old no matter how rough you use.
You can install as much as spps as you can but you'll never feel any difference in performance so much consistent.
WP is so much stable you'll never need to reset your phone while in Android I do it every week because after sometime its performance get low as you install Apps.
WP has 300,000 apps in its apps store all of them are approved by Microsoft so are quality apps as compared to low quality apps in Google store which are full of bugs because Google has no check on its app store everyone can upload any app.
WP conssume less CPU and Memory as its OS is very efficient and well Organized.
Android on other hands has huge veriety of apps but they are full of bugs because 3rd party apps can change anything in android which causes huge mess and makes the OS unstable.
When you first start Android after factory settings, it works fine but after installing some apps on it its behaviour is completely changed it gets so much lagy even it can't load SMS without loading.
I still remember I used to have Lumia 920 which has quarter specs of Lumia 1520 but yet I installed 22 GB apps on that but trust me it was just like as it was without any app installed on it. But now with WP 8.1 it is now even more fluid.
And if you still want to go for Android then go for LG Google Nexus 5 that is pure Android. NO Samsung, HTC, Sony is match for it, you can confirm it from any expert.
Hello. Can anyone tell me about the experience with large pdf files ? I want buy that phone because I sold my Ipad and I want read pdf files on my new device. I just want to know about the performance of that device with large pdf files ( +60 mb). I'm deciding between this and the xperia z ultra.
Thanks for helping.

Tcool, 25 Apr 2014Maybe that is the price of rooting his device.Sorry, it's not because it's on root. We have people who are not on root complaining. Josh, while on root like me, use stock Note 3 Android firmware by Samsung.
I do need it to work without losing any of its original stock apps like S Note, and I need those automatically updated on my Samsung cloud account.
Root just gives me a whole lot of freedom to control everything like freezing or uninstalling useless stock apps, making security apps become systems apps, tweaking the CPU to lower clock speeds, use Tasker for automating with Autoremote to remote it with my iPod without taking the Note 3 out.
I just don't have the time right now to tinker with 4.2.2. I'll probably try it out next week and root the entire device again. And if there's something wrong, I need to bring it back to 4.3. That takes time.
Hy guys how much time galaxy note 3 is taking to fully charge from 5% to 100
I have N9005 model when I was searching for update it said your phone has been modified software updates are not available what should I do??? Please help
TheNeighbor, 25 Apr 2014There are just conflicting stories. I'm not saying I don't believe you, but Josh's video prove... moreHis device was rooted. My N9005 is not so I cannot try the Titanium Backup app. But I tried to check the camera settings of my unit and the storage was peacefully set to memory card. I even tried to record 8 seconds 3840x2160 (16:9) video and it was automatically saved to SD memory card.
I don't know what this issue about Kitkat is but no matter how I tried to find flaws, I just can't. My N9005 updated to Android 4.4.2 Kitkat was perfectly working well ever since.
I am more satisfied now than when it is in Jelly Bean.
