Tcool, 01 Jun 2014Actually there are lots better alternatives than the built in FM radio. Don't confine yours... moreLike I said, I use TuneIn most of the time but there are lots of places in Australia that simply do not have mobile coverage (but have FM)... Surely you can admit that in those cases having FM in your phone would be better than nothing?

Don't confine yourself to one. It's pretty silly!

Anonymous, 01 Jun 2014You might want to re-read my comments. I never said (or implied) that FM radio was the ultimat... moreYes, of course!
I have used Sony Z2 and T2
FM radio with RDS are very useful.
Especially, we can listen Local news such as weather information and breaking news and even world news
We can also get local and traditional music and traffic news which doesn't have in internet streaming
And, Internet coverage is not always OK in everywhere
So, FM radio is necessary for future smartphones
Thanks for your opinion,

"You use the S-pen a lot but wouldn't use the FM radio.
There are people who would never use the S-pen but would use an FM radio.
I don't use the S-pen much and only used the Note 2 FM radio when the cricket was on. My point is.... the Note is meant to be the ultimate communications and entertainment device. An FM radio should have been included."
I read it line by line, word for word.
You just said it although indirectly, but the sense is the same.
Getting rid of built in radio free some RAM for other more useful stuffs. And there are better alternatives for that radio.

I never said (or implied) that FM radio was the ultimate. I said that mobile data and digital stream is great but not always the best (lack of mobile coverage, data usage cost etc).
No one person uses every feature on a smart phone. For me FM radio isn't a must have but it is for some people. Why not include it Samsung?
awie, 01 Jun 2014i give u one more option -> xperia z2. it nicenope... note3 is the best now, but i ll considered lg g3, but maybe waiting a lil bit more for note4
TheNeighbor, 01 Jun 2014No big deal for me. I love to listen to 8Tracks. Internet radio gives more, really. FM radio ... moreThat is true, I found lots of better internet radio stations that are not available in the built-in radio broadcasts.
niks, 29 May 2014Can anybody tell me which model of note 3 is available in india. Is it N9000 or N9005 or some... moreN9000 is available in india

The same with built-in radio is also useless when indside the office because the reception is horrible.
Built-in radio cannot update me with news in my country when I am in a foreign land. You call that ultimate communication? Most of the time built-in radio is useless.
How many percent of people around the world listen to cricket? Not everyone have the same sport interest.

I use TuneIn a lot more than I would use FM but there are times when FM is better.
Samsung should include every feature possible if they want to stay number 1.

Right now I am working overseas where the radio stations broadcasts are in local language which I can't understand. So built-in FM radio will be useless.
I am listening to my country's FM radio stations via TuneIn radio on my Note 3 inside my office with good reception and that is ultimate communications and entertainment. Built-in radio cannot do that.
AnonD-269205, 31 May 2014Yes it does work very well on kitkat 4.4.2 (N900)Mine does not work on 4.4.2 .too slow and agonizingly painful
