S . SUDHAKAR, 11 Feb 2014Ok. General saying : Do not update / upgrade your phone's firmware via KIES if the size ... moreYou got this info too late, most of the samsung users hate KIES, but not their Note 2 or Note 3, etc...
In kuwait am still waiting for Kitkat 4.4.2
Samsung is very slow about its update always.
GS2 and GS3 had same issue.
I had experienced personally suffering a lot long timeeeeeeeee.
General saying :
Do not update / upgrade your phone's firmware via KIES if the size is above 500 MB. KIES is waste.
Tcool, 11 Feb 2014You mean up to this moment it is still downloading?Yes. Till now, the update size (when I checked the xxx.TMP file's size in the LAPTOP's TEMP FILES folder) file is 1 GB at 59%. I think the total size must be 1.8 GB or 2 GB.
I am using wired broadband (2 Mbps till 8 GB and 512 Kbps unlimited after 8 GB). Till now I have used 6.3 GB out of 8 GB. So it is downloading at 199 to 215 KB/s (multiply this by 8 and divide the answer by 1024 to get the speed in Mbps).
Tcool, 11 Feb 2014Why predicted to be Kitkat?
You can check the Android version from the settings after updatin... moreI am anxious about 4.4.2. Thats why I am predicting. So far 31% has been downloaded.
I will post the updates after installing.
[deleted post]Why predicted to be Kitkat?
You can check the Android version from the settings after updating, no need to predict.
AnonD-155986, 10 Feb 2014i already received kitkat update 3 weeks ago. N9005 user, philippines.how did you receive the update? OTA?i also have Note 3 N9005 here in Ph, but to no avail still no appearing 4.4 KitKat UG
Tcool, 11 Feb 2014Wow! That's a lot of power!Yes, the biggest capacity I've come across for a power bank. We can thank the iPhone and uni-bodied smartphone users, as well as tablet users for the popularity of power banks.
A Geek, 10 Feb 2014You didn't mention anything about it on your previous comment.Seems you as note user who is hi... moreAgain, here are all Note 1,2 and 3 battery charger cradles since I've used since more than 2 years.
Do some research. You are the one not in the know.
A Geek, 10 Feb 2014From your first comment,it's clear that you didn't know anything about it before tcool writes ... moreYes, I did mention the cradle before you commented that numbnut statement about you only knowing charging happens on a smartphone. Separate chargers have been around for YEARS. Now who doesn't know anything?
Those pictures are of my actual battery cradle chargers. Here's my Note 1's black battery cradle:
I've used battery cradles for over 2 years. Rarely used? I use it almost everyday and it just stays home most of the time. Of course it's specific for the battery. For me, the Note 3 I'd the only thing I need and the only device I carry, henceforth I only need to carry a thin spare battery. Not everyone follows my habit, and not everyone follows your general device use and carrying the bigger and heavier power bank just because you have a uni-bodied smartphone with a non-removable battery. If you bothered looking at the images, you'll see my power bank on the right of the 2nd image. So, it'd be better for me to carry a power bank and wait to charge my device for about 2 hours daily?
You did come here arguing that a power bank is better, and only paid trolls are appreciating the feature of removable batteries. Well, I've stepped up because I have a different view, and I hope Samsung keeps on this feature for the practicality for longer usage time without having to wait hours to charge with a power bank or plugging in a convenience outlet.
It would seem your only logic here is:
Removable battery user = geek = paid Samsung troll
Power bank > Spare battery (even for a smartphone having removable battery)
I'd rather see Sony thickening their Xperia line up with a 4000mAh at least and improve their battery consumption efficiency than carry the power bank to charge up daily.
TheNeighbor, 10 Feb 2014For the Sony Xperia user who thinks that an extra battery is only charged within a device, her... moreFrom your first comment,it's clear that you didn't know anything about it before tcool writes a comment,as a person who is heavily attracted to your notes removable battery.thats not good.
An extra battery is big?because it has much more space.there are versions with 2-3000 capacity.thats much smaller.
Buying an extra accerory just for charging extra battery, which is rarely used.that's not reasonable.and I think it doesn't work with other devices.
fixed battery gives a better look to your phone and it doesn't loosen or sth(as you said it happens with micro USB port).and removable battery has advantage of changing the battery, wether it's finished or needs to repair. Can you tell 10 advantages out of these 2 categories???
I liked to have more argument with you,but I have to go to work,so I do not have time to answer you every time.So I leave here to do my work, and you stick to your work ,(commenting for Samsung),I don't know wether they pay you or not.
TheNeighbor, 09 Feb 2014For your information, I have a 7000mAh capacity power bank for over a year now. I still use it... moreYou didn't mention anything about it on your previous comment.Seems you as note user who is highly defending its removable battery, didn't know anything about it.No matter, now you know, but never defend something that you don't know.
Ramo, 10 Feb 2014I live in Iran and I have recently purchased a Samsung Galaxy Note 3 (N9000). However, N9005 w... moreLack of 4k shooting in your country??????
Really? does 4k shooting needs govt. permission or a license or special signals?
I just got my note3 n9005 last week and I must say that it's worth the price. Hoping for the Kitkat Update in the Phillipines.
Tcool, 10 Feb 2014I think it's a good idea having the extra battery and power bank at the same time during long ... moreI'm actually considering a mega power bank of 32,000mAh capacity. It cost US$60 only. It's heavy, thick and the size of an A5 notebook. That'd give me powered up for a week or two.
A power bank and battery cradle would be the best, and I use to do that with my Note 1 since it had short battery usage time. I'd charge the spent battery in my bag.
