Sony xperia M was launched in june 2013, it got updated to 4.4 kitkat is also a big thing because it doesn't have that good hardware (its outdated)... Just check the galaxy core, it is still struck on 4.2.2 jellybean...
Within an year tons of phones are launched and every phone cannot get an update... Talking about the security thing, kitkat is very much stable and doesn't have ANY security leak issues... Sony launched the T2 ultra with jellybean, it got updated to kitkat and then lollipop, is a big thing....
The note 3 neo, has very good hardware, it has amazing performance and hardware... You cannot say it bad only if it didnt get updated to lollipop...
Talking about the iphone, iphone 4s is available for 13k in some of the stores...!!
Also you're talking about the update thing... Do you know that samsung didn't even gave update to the E7... It was launched with kitkat 4.4.4 and is still on 4.4.4.... Samsung has abandoned it...

Worst phones ever seen, mo... moreSony - they only provide updates to their flagships and mid-rangers, I had a Xperia M which they abandoned for even KK4.4(which they had promised they would provide updates, but retracted their stmnt after a couple of months, this was the last nail in their coffin, which made me swear never to buy Sony), which was the best VFM budget phone w.r.t its hardware. Sold it off online. I am a person who need updates, not for viual looks, but for security patches.
I hate Samsung, this N3N was my first samsung and 2nd android phone(after XM)
I am fascinated with Motorola these days coz even their low end phones receive the latest versions of OS.
Apple: It not really abt android vs ios for me atleast Its the price. Too expensive as compared to android phones with same hardware configs, tho i agree "with ios u need not need very high end hardware" argument.
