i'm gonna wait for the charcoal black variant... and by december, because for sure there would be some drop in the price. this is currently priced as much as the bigger Note 10.1.
I hope its available next week. I really want to buy this one. (From Philippines) :)
Will there be a Wifi Only version in the future here @ Philipines? Its dumb when using a device that HUGE for taking pics, calling! messaging? and it cost more than Php9000, then the note 2 price also drops from Php25000 (http://www.sulit.com.ph/index.php/view+classifieds/id/10416815/Samsung+Galaxy+Note+2+3G+4G+LTE+Gray+White+SALE?referralKeywords=note+2&event=Search+Ranking,Position,3-18,58) see link of sulit.com

TheNeighbor, 14 Apr 2013It's US$585 here in Manila with the free flip cover promo last Saturday.Yes, but remember: tariffs. I think our tariffs on these kinds of goods are high.
Nsonaso, 15 Apr 2013Please what is the price for the 16GB version in US DOLLARS? The US is only getting the wifi version for $400. This is in reaction to criticism from Tech reviews of the 3G version being "silly looking" to be used as a phone against the ear.
I personally don't mind having the phone function as a secondary phone while I keep my Note II as my main. The Note 8 having 3G data makes sense for navigation and not dependent on wifi connection while out of the house. Good for security apps like Cerberus to text command the Note 8 for obvious reasons.

I got my note 8 at the Philippines launch event at the Mall Of Asia. I was told that the regular price would be P 26,480 once it hits the stores a week after. The promo price during the one-day event, however, was P 23,990. All buyers during the event also went home with a free flip-cover worth P 1,800. Though I initially found it too expensive for its features, Samsung extended the two hour promo for a guaranteed free phone (E1200T, Samsung Y, S Duos, Galaxy Grand, S3 mini, S3, Note II) by picking from a fish bowl to last the whole day instead of from only 10am-12nn. In the end, it turned out to be a great deal and worth the trek across town since I also walked home with a Free Samsung Y Reloaded. Not what I had wanted but still ok. Luvin' my note 8.0!
