At present in HTC, Sony, Samsung, Samsung is only capable to give better battery back up all others failed. Nokia is just starting in Android so it is better not to keep high expectations. You know that Samsung's symbian phone gave better battery, it's the OS, not the manufacturer which controls battery consumption.

So Nokia's future android phone with dual core will satisfy my needs. It may come with carl zeiss lens, xenon flash and many impressive features.
Normal user (just browsing, hearing and watching songs with true effects in addition to talking and SMS) does not need quad core.
Nokia has made a single core processor (with GPU) phone N8 that is capable of handling* upto 720p 30 fps HD videos flawlessly without hanging. So my predictionnis Nokia dual core phones with more RAM can also handle* 1080p (1920 x 1080) videos without any problem.
* means recording and playback
So I have last hope on Nokia' s android phone (when my impression about Nokia went bad after launching lumia phones with non replaceable battery) in the future.
Lets see.

Let's see how can it compete with latest. You can try lenovo, don't know the name but they are marketing their battery backups.

You indirectly that android phones give less battery backup time because of high performance. Lets see if Nokia releases android phones. There is a rumour. Search in google. I hope at least Nokia puts full stop to less backup time of android phones by releasing more energy efficient android phones. Lets hope the best.

I always said performance needs power. Single core android can do much more tasks then Symbian.

You should also agree that no single core android phone can be matched with the best battery backup of Symbian phones. If I open desktop webpages in N8 the browser will close. According to me N8 satisfies me in all aspects except web browsing.

1. Buy juice defender ultimate from play store or just Google it u can
get it ! I can help u for further set up !
2. never use dual/ auto mode ! for gsm= gsm mode, 3G= wcdma
mode.
3. Turn off all vibration !
4. Turn on power saving mode !
5. use minimum brightness !
6. avoid frequent restarting !
7. Turn off all the sounds if it is not necessary !
8. Charge ur phone only when it turn off automatically after 0% battery
level and turn on the device only after fully charging to 100% ( I do
this )
9. setting> account > google > location setting > turn off
10. setting > more > location services > turn off
11. setting > connection > wifi > advance > keep wifi on during sleep >
never
12. use CLEAN MASTER for removing junk files, residues, system
cache and more !
13. use app DRIPPLER for more tips !
14. setting > my device > display > daydream > off

[deleted post]Performance wise N8,cannot stand in front of high end androids, what will you do with battery back up when you cannot do the tasks you need. If you consider that bashing then I can do nothing.

i bought my note 2 from samsung authorised store. and not getting battery backup as like u .
but definitely better than my previous android phone( sony ericsson )...anyway i m happy with overall performance of note 2.
GSMarena is a good site to discuss with problems of android & to exchange of view.
but here i see personal attack & misbehaviour .
note 2 is a pricy product & i think only educated & elite people use it... i wish a productive discussion here.. thank u all.

i get aro... moreTry disabling or force stop unnecessary apps in settings --> application manager --> all.
You might get some more backup time. Do not disable the apps that appear with andeoid logo as they are system apps.

i get aro... moreA person here said that he is having 2 batteries. From this itself you judge the battery backup time. Any way some selfish creatures still say (without heart and blood) that their devices get good battery life. Don't believe them. They may get 24 to 26 hours. But they may boost it and say as more than 30 hours.
I am not saying that others are saying lies here. They are not allowing users to post real battery standby time here and they will tell us (in a shameless manner) that ours is not original and try to block our post.
Now also I am saying, if you are used to the worst battery backup of most of the android phones, then you can fine tune thia handset and use it effectively. I am not blaming only this handset regarding worst battery backup but most of the android phones.
There are news that Nokia may launch android phones. As everyone knows Nokia is known as the best company for longer battery backup of the handsets, lets see it comes up with android phones with longer backup time compared to other android phones. Then the selfish persons here will shut their mouths !!!!.

That's the result i am getting and i must tell you it's not Samsung original battery. ( currently owing 2 batteries)
As i know how engineering works so i am having good time of battery backup always.
When i sold my S2. It's used to give me 3 days backup with no wifi and 1 day 15 hours backup with continous email sync.
And 1 thing i always charge with power off and charge completely at 1 time and never recharges until it's 10%

Anonymous, 27 Jan 2014I'm really confused between Samsung galaxy note II and grand II . . Plz help..which one to buy?Galaxy Grand II looks good, comes with newer firmware, but it has 8 GB internal memory, while Galaxy Note II uses 16 GB internal memory.
