Although you can rest palm on note 2 when you are taking notes with Spen. Note 2 is excellent for note taking, painting, photo editing in Snote is awesome. Why don't you go to any shop where you can check out note 2 yourself???

I hv used note 2 highest if I compare with my other phones. its awesome and allrounder phone good camera .touch .battery .processor .ram and quality device its for men.

Portability is a big issue with me too,I don't want to carry additional bag for the tablet. If there isn't any significant difference in note taking capabilities of both the devices then I will go with Note 2.I won't be taking notes during live lecture, I plan it to use within the comfort of library or my room.
I have heard that you can't rest your palm on note 2 screen while writing as it does not differentiate it with the stylus. Is it true?

Acc. to gsmarena review of note 2, Note 10.1 spen is more good. Note 10.1 will be hard to carry around as compared to note 2. As far as Apps concerned, both have same processor , ram and Android 4.1.2 I personally feel, if you want to take class notes on a gadget, u should buy note 10.1

One thing though, when I said note 10.1, I meant the one released last year (Galaxy note 10.1 N8000). I cant afford the 2014 version. You might want to modify your answer now.

For Note taking apps, check Samsung Apps for Spen.
It has Snapdragon 800 , so dont worry about gaming. it has lots of power.

Is tat not enough. By the way go and see galaxy core ppl reviews in this same gsmarena.com. Users are complaining tat they are not even able to play subway surfers. This is prob wid dual sim phones. They cannot perform well. See I love samsung. Im not fighting here against samsung. Ppl will be more happy if they are able get some good phones for 15-20k. Thats all.

But using external battery, yo... more2ndly every battery is not comfortable with every cellphone and that's might be the reason you are not enjoying true essence of note 2. We need to understand the engineering aspect of every specification recommended by manufacturer. It's higly dangerous if you use external batteries with samsung if it's not made specifically for that cell.
Note 2 battery backup is of world class with no doubt. 69h endurance means something!

This note 2 consumes 98% charge from the iball external 4400 mAh battery for charging the 3100 mAh battery to 100% just for using online texting using 2G EDGE network !!!.

@NikiDroid: Yup you are right and Now I am again using Original One and kept the Anker Battery in the box [After discharging as it's always good that when you keep your batteries without machine, keep them discharged] And after 6 months I will switch to new Anker One. I did same with my Samsung Galaxy SII and till the last day it gave me backup of 2 days and I sold it with good price as my Samsung Galaxy SII battery left with hundreds of Charge Cycles.
It is to be noted that every battery has limited number of charge cycles and after that it don't charge and eventually of no use.

After several months, you change it again with new one?
