The best experience with the S Pen for writing is with Swiftkey. The new update just integrated the Flow function where you glide your finger or S Pen across the screen to encode words. It's better than the stock Samsung keyboard. They both get the words you want wrong at most 25% of the time. It learns the most common words and phrases you use over time.
If you rapidly want to encode words, I suggest you get a good bluetooth keyboard, preferably something that is full sized or it can be folded in the middle for better carrying and storage. There are smaller ones at the size of the Note II. I plan to get one of those for portability.
I also do suggest you download Polaris 4 from the Samsung App Store. It's a fair enough Microsoft Office replacement and it's free.
A bluetooth mouse can be also be connected with the Note II for productivity.
Mine 4.1.2 but alwiz hang. Need to take out battery and put it back. Why is that happen. Plz help..
Was fortunate to see s3 and note 2 in a show room in a phonestore, 306ppi on s3 was not better than 267ppi on note 2 , note 2 was amazing. Still want to know if i can through the features of spen use it in writing my books. Need reply from experience users. Thanks all to note 2 lovers and above all samsung users.
I've went ahead & updated to the official N7100 firmware 4.1.2 (February - DXDLK5 for Philippines) and ran a root.
Ok, the plan was to experiment on some custom ROMs if power efficiency was a big problem. Seems stable for now as it's running as it did before - somehow. I just lost 10% power in am hour's worth of surfing and uploading via wifi.
I'm tempted to try out some of the lighter ROMs for a change but would lose Touchwiz functions like multi-view and Smart Stay.
kakerot, 24 Feb 2013which one is better ...note 2 or lumia 920.....?You have to choice samsung note 2 because of its processor, memory, android, batery back up,2ndry camera & gps power..

The latest version of 4.1.2 have good battery life than 4.1.1...check it
When to expect a price drop?
I would give this phone 400€, not more. How much would I have to wait for it to drop to 400€?
My phone is switched off...daily 2 or 3 times...why.?
Any software problem.? I am using 4.1.1 version.its new phone..only 1 week..
Battery is getting one full day..
Why switch off..
Perfect phone, fits into my pocket effortlessly. May have issues with single-handed use but god gave us 2 of them for a reason.

On 4.1.1 Note 2 was way great in terms of battery life.
ithehappy, 23 Feb 2013 Other than the SDS bug there is NO other bug in 4.1.1. Battery life was WAY SUPERIOR on 4... moreJust to clarify things about latest updates. I am using the Google Nexus7. You see I bought the GN7 in November last year. Out of the box came JB4.1.1 and its a nightmare. Battery drain and 'sudden death' are the issue that I encounter during my time with the GN7. For your info JB4.1.2 is a fix for the JB4.1.1. After that everything is OK and then it is 'stable' if you are on JB4.2.1. But the best reserve for the JB4.2.2. This latest upgrade works flawlessly. Mine is not rooted. My advice is stay away fromJB4.1.1 and wait for the JB4.2.1 onwards. Your patients will be rewarded. Cheers.
Four months owning the N7100 (non LTE). So far I've found it faultless. It was on the biggie side at first but now I don't notice it. Trying my father's S3 felt weird and small. I was skeptical about Samsung due to a bad experience with Galaxy Ace (sleep of death), until my carrier gave me the Note 2. So far Samsung win me back.
Anonymous, 23 Feb 2013hey guys, do you have any idea whether or not the note 2 will get the update to jelly bean 4.2... moreI believe 4.2 will be released within a couple of months. Samsung just leaked a 4.2 ROM for S3 yesterday, so I think Note 2 version is not far.
