Last year, Adobe announced that it is going to stop the development of mobile Flash Player for Android. Adding further nails in that coffin, Adobe has now announced that Flash Player won't be supported in Android 4.1. A prime example of this is the new Nexus 7 tablet, that ships without Flash support.
Furthermore, Adobe has announced that it will cease new Flash Player downloads from the Google Play Store, starting August 15. This means you will no longer see the Flash Player in the Play Store if it is not already installed on your device. Devices that already have the Flash Player installed will continue to receive minor updates and bug fixes post August 15.
Since the Flash Player is not supported in Android 4.1, Adobe is urging users to uninstall it before updating to Android 4.1, as it will not work properly. Also, any future updates to the Flash Player will not work under Android 4.1.
So it seems the era of Flash on Android has come to an end. What was once touted as a key selling point for Android devices is now being killed by its own maker. It doesn't help that Google too wants to distance itself from this archaic technology, as seen by the lack of Flash support in Chrome for Android even under Android 4.0.
It goes without saying that Apple has been instrumental in bringing this change. Sooner or later everyone was going to realize that the emperor was wearing no clothes. It's just that Apple was the first to point this out. Hopefully, the web developers will now finally wake up and adopt more modern technologies such as HTML5 for creating web content.
Wiki, 24 Jun 2012Is anyone using SGN without screen protector? Is it good to use without it? I just hope the st... moreI do use it without protectors all the time (several months). And it has a lot of tiny abrasions if you look at black screen against light, but against white background, when you read for instance, it's not visible. But i've already written here, that one day i got 3 thick scratches (with keys or something) and against white background it looks like a rainbow (refraction happens). It's annoying and I even thought about glass replacement. But since glass is replaced in this device together with touchscreen - it's too expensive (more than 200$) I just lernt to live with it... :(
PRIDE, 24 Jun 2012You should not have to install a custom rom to get good battery life. With official ics, I ca... moreyeap, I use "disable" / "uninstall" option via System Tuner Pro app. It automatically backups this app. Also allows to record activity of phone to log for further analysis. But actually "disable" is an option of Linux! :) So it was possible to make app disabled a while ago, via OS command-line :) (ICS simply revealed it for users via easy interface).
Sotheara Dtrc, 29 Jun 2012It's so great... but the only problem is the battery life... it can stand around 7hours for my... moreChange brightness to around 10-15% instead of auto. That will definitely improve the battery.
Tausif, 28 Jun 2012After i upgraded to Icecream sandwich 4.0, my Android market is not working. Phone lags a lot ... moreJust backup your data and do a factory reset it were solved you a lot of problem. That what i did.
It's so great... but the only problem is the battery life... it can stand around 7hours for my massive use. But it was pretty impressive when my last previous charging time let me use it 1day 6mns for normal use... :D Love it!!

queyet, 26 Jun 2012because you need to be connected to the internet to use Voice TalkThanks Queyet, for your answer to my question re to the Voice Talk. Actually, I did turn on my wifi internet connection and it was connected to the internet, but still the voice Talk did not work on my Samsung Galaxy Note. It used to work fine with Gingerbread. It seems not right that the Voice Talk in ICS 4.0.3 only work with Wifi connection and not with the 3G data plan (as I cannot see any option to select for 3G data plan). I don't think Wifi has a signal broader coverage than a 3g) I wonder how people are you going to use Voice Talk in a car without Wifi connection? Please advice me if I am wrong in this conception. Any update to fix this Voice Talk? Will 4.0.4 fix this problem?
All the people having battery draining issue (GB or ICS) install "CPU tuner (Rooted phones)". Its free.
My Note@GB was draining 30% battery in 10 hours of Standby. Now it drains only 1%. Woohoooo!!! :D
divya, 21 Jun 2012HI , I also updated my phone with this 7 MB update and now it has stopped functioning just ... moreme 2 had to finaly visit the service center to get the os loaded pleasdo not update furthr is my advic
today i updated my note to DDLPA and got new samsungapps update and it change all the UI and it is now really beautiful and more options.
Really like the phone and it updated to android 4.0 today.
I have four android devices and use this the most.
The galaxy note was worth every penny I paid for it(32GB one i have) Its fcking awesome...I havent had ANY PROBLEMS whatsoever with this phone...I was shaky to update it to ICS 4.0.1(rooted) but i did it anyways to install the ISeeYou app which is shit -_- but I expected problems like crashing and freezing....nothing of the sort happened. Battery life is godlike, I watch like 1.5 - 2Hr movies about twice everyday, take/receive calls, Twitter/skype/msn, wifi is on for like 3-4hrs per day and all of this on a full battery carries it to around 20-30% But, like with all android devices you have to keep killing background apps, buying apps to do that just doesn't cut it for me so i do it manually. All this being done on a phone with a basically heavy duty battery makes it GODLIKE. Taking/reviving calls and wifi alone carries the battery to like 30-40% and thats wifi on for like 8hrs per day on a full battery. I will sell my SGN and buy the SGN2 without a doubt when october comes, its a no brainer!
