It has an HD super AMOLED (active-matrix organic light-emitting diode) screen, the first Samsung mobile device next to its Nexus unit to utilize the technology. For information on their differences, please at least visit Wikipedia.
Superb machine one limitaion though;it does not seem to be able to resize a text you zoom onto to fit the screen
this extremely useful feature is available on Android phones and tablets that cost a fraction of the Galaxy Note I called Samsung France who were unable to say if it was malfunctioning or a shortcoming

everyone have their own opinion to share here, and so do i. and i respect every and each of them. unlike u that give a rude reply on my opinion. its up to u if u dont find the lcd problem annoying, but everyone here is not u!!
i share the problems here so Samsung Team can fix it for all users. we can talk about how charming this phone is all day long, but still what Samsung needs to hear from all the user is if there r any WRONGS, so the Team can make it all RIGHT! got it?!

Are you using the Samsung USB connector to transfer the files to an external universal USB flash drive? You are wanting to transfer files from the phone's some 11 GB storage to an external USB flash drive? Is that it? Or are you transferring using the PC to manage? Probably I could help if you clear things up.

Maybe it worked on another variant of the SII? Remember, the G Note had a pentile type of super AMOLED screen. Try and see at the showrooms.

Nateberukmung, 13 Dec 2011Phone expert advice me, when 1st time re-charge your battery, min re-charge must 8 or 9 hour. ... moreStrange advice but sound. The thing is, unlike Ni-cad batteries of before, Li-Polymer can be recharged without totally draining. Batteries have a limited number of recharging cycles, around 500 before not being able to retain a workable charge. In any case, time and usage will slowly make the battery useless.
A better practice could be to have extra batteries (I really think more than one extra) so that you fully drain to reduce the charging cycle usage. Once drained just pop in the fresh battery, and have the drained one being charged using a portable charger powered by a portable power pack, placed inside your bag. This is something Iphone users cannot do with their fixed internal batteries.
I'm still waiting for extra batteries to be regularly sold in retail shops, with the official Samsung charger for the 2500mAh battery. The only accessory that I managed to see meant for the Note is an exterior back translucent jacket to help against the bumps.
AnonD-33975, 13 Dec 2011Bro im using Galaxy Note since last few days but i found its battery lasts for only 2 or 3hrs ... morePhone expert advice me, when 1st time re-charge your battery, min re-charge must 8 or 9 hour. The for the 2nd time and afterward 2-3 hour only. Don't let phone re-charge more than 5 hour, it will decrease your battery lifespan. Make sure you battery 98% or 99% empty before re-charge, don't re-charge if your battery is still 2/3 or 1/2 full. That all they said to me.
AnonD-33975, 13 Dec 2011Bro im using Galaxy Note since last few days but i found its battery lasts for only 2 or 3hrs ... moreWow, I have not experienced that short of a battery life on mine! You might want to consider not utilizing all those apps so often. They update or retrieve data if you have them on. I have foregone with those apps, especially facebook, twitter and even the samsung app since the updates are charged every time, other than my so-called unlimited data plan. All except google applications which are apparently free.
Do you really need to be connected all the time? Turn off your GPS, bluetooth, wifi (when you don't need), set your vibrate mode to just notifications if possible, lower your screen brightness. I only check my social networks via the Opera web browser, which apparently reduces data downloading. It's just keeping an eye on turning off what you don't need and you could get through the day. I think what is definitely essential are texting and normal phone calls.
Remember that it processes more pixels than any other phones, and so it needs power. If you really do want to operate the way you usually do without worrying about battery conservation, then you would need to plug it in whenever you can via convenience outlet if you stay long in one place, and a portable battery extension add-on or external battery pack.
I once had used the Note for 18 hours - filming, picture-taking, uploading, sketching, but was plugging on a portable 6600mAh battery back from time to time.
Widgets like the provided Application Manager or any similar applications can help you kill off unwanted open apps running. I do it manually since I don't believe that task killers would help but contribute to power consumption.
Yes, portability still has its limits in terms of battery longevity. I still remember coming across one of the earliest Ipod and the shop clerk told me it only had 8 hours of power to run its 5 GB HDD. That was absurd to me at that time. Now they go on for 40 hours in one charge.
Until we have heavy capacity portable power packs that wirelessly charges our gadgets, or utilizes our body heat to generate electricity, or a new Android operation system that greatly reduces power drain from the battery and can last more than 24 hours even with heavy usage, I'm afraid we are still stuck with these methods of prolonging our batteries.
